business development, engineering project management, and technical design positions.
• Front-end engineering and equipment design (FEED); engineering, procurement, and
construction (EPC) and manufacturing experience. Broad background in structural and
mechanical facilities and equipment engineering and construction.
• Demonstrated ability to build internal & external client relationships and determine cost
effective solutions to design, process, or regulatory issues.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
ENGINEERING MANAGER; MATRIX SERVICE, TULSA, OK
February 2003 to Present
Matrix Service provides construction and maintenance services to energy-related industries.
• Developed engineering organization of two (2) design engineering groups and one (1) project
engineering group to provide in-house engineering support for a $730 million company in the
design build arena. Project portfolio includes bulk liquid tanks and terminals; Liquid Natural
Gas (LNG); liquid nitrogen and oxygen (LIN/LOX) tanks; ASME Pressure Vessels; refinery
equipment; water treatment facilities and other structures.
• Built the engineering groups to support company growth from $200 million to $730 million
• Formulated and supported company growth in new strategic markets such as Nuclear Energy,
LNG, Refinery FCCU turnaround work etc.
• Supported construction project managers from twenty (20) regional offices to win contracts /
projects by developing engineering and procurement aspects of bid packages. Provided
leadership and direction for 15-20 multiple concurrent projects at any given time.
• Reviewed technical concepts including design calculations; structural, stress, finite element
(FEA), and safety and failure analysis; fitness for service evaluations; and redesign for
continuing operation.
• Created and made technical presentations and attend sales meetings to address technical
issues to secure new business. Identified and resolved clients’ questions and concerns.
• Proposed innovative solutions and cost saving alternatives to meet clients’ objectives and
expectations and to establish win-win relationships.
• Facilitated smooth execution of projects by attending regular progress meetings with clients
and visiting construction sites. Conceptualized, identified, and resolved field problems.
• Managed complete project lifecycle from initial concept through construction for certain
project. For example, project engineering manager for design and project engineering for
$120 million LNG terminal project in collaboration with the consortium partner MHI.

plate and shell structures, ASME pressure vessels and piping, API and AWWA storage tanks,
silos, kilns, and other specialty structures. Led and conducted structural, finite element, safety
and failure, and seismic analysis.
• Collaborated and coordinated with Inspection services group in regard to work scope, client
deliverables, problem resolution, and development of repair methods. Inspected, evaluated,
and redesigned existing structures for continued operation. Designed plant preventative and
predictive maintenance programs.
• Identified potential new business and opportunities with existing clients. Created proposals
and made sales presentations to win bids. Designed projects, managed cost functions, and
negotiated contracts. Managed client and vendor relations throughout project.
