Senior Test and Integration Engineer July 2006 – June 2009

IMAKE Software and Services, Bethesda, Maryland

Promoted through a series of positions with increasing responsibility including managing a test team of 4 engineers

at an innovative VOD company.

Lead Test and Integration Engineer, currently focusing on the satellite television provider,

London-based British Sky Broadcasting (BSKYB). Working on delivering a fully integrated

asset management system that will allow BSKYB customers to utilize the video on demand

concept. In the United Kingdom, tasks include maintaining customers on-site VOD test lab,

managed all software installs and upgrades at customers test lab, designing dynamic test tools,

benchmarking various real-time systems, managed DBA in charge of on site Oracle databases.

Testing of documented interface specifications with third party vendors in the UK, including

Motorola, Akamai, Telestream, Cerify and NDS.

Project Management: Lead prioritization and communication process for technical decisions made

between third party vendors. Recommend improvements to development process, both technical

and non-technical. Establish and ensure standards and policies are followed and modified as

required. Ensure successful delivery of end product to internal teams and external customers, and

that business objectives are being met via deliverables. Manage personal and test team's time,

priorities, and deliverables.

Web Applications: Manage and lead Web Application test team, internal and external resources, on

web related initiatives. Create development plans and designs for needed interfaces. Working

with graphic designers, design web product components and functionality for product

specifications. Maintain strong technical understanding of latest technologies and applications

available for online, and cable related VOD software. Identify and develop web or command line

tools to test systems and associated processes.

On-site support of customer test team: Worked on site at BSKYB in the United Kingdom for two years,

gathering, analyzing, documenting and verifying issues found for the VOD project at BSKYB.

Worked with development team to assist in meeting plan deliverables on time with high quality.

Provided feedback to development team for better prioritization of bugs. Represented IMAKE at

design and integration sessions hosted at BSKYB with all relevant vendors present. Managed all

new software installations and upgrades at customer's VOD test lab, planned with customer test

team's to ensure data preservation through software upgrades, minimized down time for test

team's both at customers site and during development.

HLD Design: Design and develop High Level Design documentation for customer specific Asset

Management systems. Respond to end-user problems and requests for assistance with

functionality, content distribution, and application or database integration. Administer a

maintenance plan, with policies, procedures, and methodologies for expansion and backup

procedures specific to client applications and content.
