Participated in full software development lifecycle of a student information reporting application planned for up to

40,000 educators using Oracle Business Intelligence 10.1.3, Enterprise Edition (formerly Siebel Analytics). As

Reporting Team Lead, developed multiple reports and dashboards, met with users to analyze functional and data

requirements, and offered suggestions for UI consistency and optimal data access. Triaged customer issues for

proper assignment to developers. Performed SQL performance tuning analysis using the SQL Tuning Pack in Oracle

10g and reviewed execution plans, implemented materialized views and bitmap indexes, and suggested changes in

the OBIEE repository for optimal SQL generation. Designed and implemented business rule changes for existing and

new Express reports using a ROLAP data model using Relational Access Manager and Oracle Web Agent. Led the

identification and resolution of production Express Server configuration problems.

PL/SQL, SQL [Jun 05 – Feb 06] Designed and developed a data migration application in PL/SQL using a

metadata-driven approach to generate dynamic SQL in Oracle 9i and 10g databases. Oracle Applications engineers

used this tool to extract and load regression testing data among various environments with dramatic improvements

over the existing loading framework from a task of weeks to a few hours.

Discoverer, SQL, Management [Jun 04 – Jun 05] As team expert on Discoverer 4i, designed and developed SQL

intensive Discoverer reports for Financial Services Basel II Regulatory compliance. Addressed design challenges

such as complex formulas, data transformation and on-the-fly aggregation absent of a full-blown data warehouse

under a competitive timeframe. Collaborated with Product Management on data sourcing and requirements analysis.

Managed a junior team member and provided technical mentoring to provide a timely delivery of reports.

Java, Management [Jan 03 – Jun 04] Designed and developed the middle tier for the Oracle Transfer Pricing

application using Java and JDeveloper 9i as part of a suite-wide effort to transform a new generation of Oracle

Financial Services products from client-server to a three tiered web-based model. Application was built on Oracle

Applications Framework (a JSP-based MVC framework) using Business Components for Java (Oracle’s object-

relational mapping library) and HTML rendering based on XML metadata. Performed project and technical

management for two junior engineers working on this project.

Java [Oct 01 – Dec 02] Designed and developed web-based database administration tools using Java, Oracle

Applications Framework and JDeveloper 9i for use by internal Oracle Applications developers worldwide.

OLAP [ ov 99 – Oct 01+] Designed and developed server-side enhancements to the data access layer and

Financial Services cashflow engines in a multidimensional database for a Budgeting and Planning application in

Oracle Express (OLAP). Implemented Transfer Pricing with Market Rates cashflow methodology calculations

requiring understanding of complex industry business rules. As team expert on OLAP and Express, implemented

performance improvements and mentored team members on Express code and multidimensional database design.

OLAP, Consulting [Jun 97 – Jun 99] Developed multidimensional OLAP applications using Oracle Express

Server and developed the client side with Express tools such as Administrator, Analyzer and Express Web

Agent/Publisher for Boeing, Northrup, McDonald’s and Government Agencies. Developed and implemented Oracle

Financial Analyzer applications using custom Express programming, internal hooks and metadata customization.

Financial Analyzer and Express Server implementations required multi-dimensional and hybrid OLAP solutions

(reach through to an Oracle 7 database) to drill to the appropriate level of detail. Performed all phases of the

software development lifecycle from project management, requirements acquisition and analysis, development, and

performance tuning to testing, technical documentation and customer support.

Reengineered and rewrote a Visual Basic 4.0 application with a Microsoft Access backend. Acquired user

requirements, restructured database, and redesigned entire GUI of an asset-based loan document management tool to

track and report exceptions of expiration dates of documents such as leases, taxes, insurance and titles.

Developed new functionality and greatly stabilized a healthcare decision support system using Visual Basic and

Oracle Express (OLAP). Individually designed and developed a code-consolidation module for an OLAP Decision

Support System for healthcare facility administrators in Express Server. Performed benchmarking and performance

tuning on data loads and drill-to-detail on the multidimensional database. As Team Leader, interviewed Visual

Basic/Express candidate employees and collaborated on cross-functional teams such as the External Design team to

help design the UI of HCm’s new healthcare DSS product, Alliance.
