Extensive application trapping knowledge. Assemble plate layouts and produce plates using Screen and

Creo CTP systems. Experience with packaging as well as catalog-style production.

Prepress Operator

Production of film and digital plate-ready files using Quark, Illustrator and Photoshop. Team leader for the

Taco Bell account, setting up procedures for each project in order to maintain consistency from all

operators on all shifts.

Responsible for maintaining throughput of jobs in desktop publishing and color departments. Set up and

maintained database management procedures. Troubleshoot and repair of equipment. Interviewed

prospective employees. I frequently attended trade shows and seminars, which were needed in order to stay

ahead of the constantly evolving electronic prepress industry.

1991-1992 Desktop Operator

Responsible for managing the gateway from the high-end color retouching environment to the desktop and

PostScript output devices. Since this was a new position created, I had to create new workflow procedures

and train other employees in film output and file management.

1988-1991 Scanner Operator

Responsible for the output of color-separated film from a high-end drum scanner. Job prep skills were

necessary and follow-through was a must. The ability to adjust color knowing dot percent was a skill

utilized daily. Color-corrected film using dry-etching process.

1988 Apprentice

Responsible for producing one-piece plate-ready film from stripping flats. The ability to produce

Matchprint, Color Key, Dylux, and Velox proofs was required. Maintenance included calibrating the

contact frames and cleaning the film processors.
