1987 – 1992 : Bayer Antwerpen NV ( Belgium ), Control Engineering manager.

I managed several several automation and control projects and was responsible for their definition,

planning and implementation, eg :

• Replacement study of aged Foxboro DCS system with new UNIX system

• Internal Bayer standardisation of failsafe and highavailability PLC systems. Associated software

standardisation.

• Implementation of a H control strategy.

1992 – 1996 : Honeywell ( Belgium ), Batch Application Centre.

As a batch consultant, I was responsible for the successful technical leadership for several large

industrial automation projects. Most important were :

• Specification of the automation and control strategy for a new bio chemical batch plant for AECI

( Durban, South Africa ).

• Technical lead for ENPPI MPC Oil Blend Plant project in Alexandria, Egypt.

2006 – 2007 : Emerson Process Solutions, Principal Engineer.

I was responsible for the analysis, implementation and delivery of a control solution for a

Johnson&Johnson pharmaceutical plant. Technologies included Emerson DeltaV DCS, PI from

OSISoft, SQLServer relational database and various custom coding ( VBasic, C++, html, SQL... )

Experience in Industrial IT.

I acquired experience in the area of Industrial IT, such as MES systems, SCADA, realtime databases,

interfaces, realtime programming, historians, relational databases, middleware etc.

1998 – 2008 : Aspen Technology ( Europe ), consultant/project manager.

As a consultant/project manager within AspenTech, I was responsible for the roll out of custom MES

applications to clients worldwide. Clients and assignments include :

• Kuwait Oil Company : upstream oil production information and optimization.

• Aventis Pharma : technical lead of a MES system in a 21CFR11 compliant pharmaceutical

production environment.

2008 – 2009 : Fabricom-GTI ( Belgium ), MES Consultant.

I was responsible for the MES business development and roll out of MES applications to Fabricom-

GTI's clients in Belgium. Includes sales support and development of partnerships with software

vendors ( AspenTech ) and partners within the Suez group.

Consulting and Project Management experience.

Excellent project management experience in medium/large software projects across the various

assignments ( references see above ). Experience covers all stages of the software development cycle

( sales, analysis, specification, development, acceptance, rollout and support), various industries

( pharma, chemical, discrete manufacturing, distribution, office automation, car assembly ) and various

technologies ( software development in various languages, SAP development, custom coding,

interfaces... ).

I also acquired consulting experience in business development and technology consulting.

1997 - 1998 : Honeywell ( USA ), Strategic Consulting Group

As a benchmarking and technology consultant, I consulted with management to provide decision

support associated with the client’s automation and IT plans.

• Cytec Industries – Botlek ( Netherlands ) and Willow Island ( USA ).

• TotalFina refinery Antwerpen ( Belgium ).

2008 : Aspen Technology ( The Netherlands ), Business Development.

With the sales organisation of AspenTech, I focused on selling customised software solutions to clients

in the process industries :

• The introduction of a KPI monitoring system at EniPower’s electricity sites ( Italy ).

• A 21CFR11 reporting systems for Sanofi-Aventis.
