SENIOR TEST ENGINEER
Specialty Software Products / Avionics / Electronics / Semiconductor
PROFILE: Senior Test Engineer with more than 20 years of experience in software development, adaptive
hardware design and systems integration for both avionics and semiconductor industries. A detailed, self
motivated professional with solid problem solving and analytical skills. Created test solutions for fortune 500
companies in the Semiconductor Industry. Extensive experience in vital, fast-paced departments within a
rapidly growing industry. Solution-based, research oriented operations professional that has created value
for customers, clients and companies.
HIGHLIGHTS OF QUALIFICATIONS
• COTS / ATE Integration • Excellent Communication Skills • Problem Resolution
• New Product Implementation • Operations Management • Strategic Planning
• Test Hardware/Software Design • Team Player and Leader • Project Management
SELECTED ACHIEVEMENTS
Expanded the Testers capability to perform AC testing. Implemented Lab view to communicate with tester
and COTS instruments for probe and final test. The Lab view application also created statistical data for
engineering analysis. Impact: Gained new customers and saved the company millions of dollars in tester
(ATE) replacement. The data derived could easily be imported to excel for statistical analysis.
Designed new adaptive hardware that was compatible with each targeted facilities handler. Selected by
leadership to re-engineer a failing transfer process. The unit cost 50% more than targeted facility unit cost.
Directed each facility to verify the modified programs with the new hardware worked correctly. Impact: The
project was completed in quarter of allotted time frame and netted a 50% savings per unit.
Developed a high pin count adaptive hardware could test several types of (DADC) Digital Air Data
Computers. New test platform which required new hardware and software. No current tester solutions for
new and existing products. This adapter commanded Arinc429 buses, RS232, Power supplies, digital
scopes, DMM, form A & C relays and Coax mux configurations. Impact: This adapter saved 10s of
thousands of dollars in fabrication, certification and hardware servicing.
Collaborated with the design team to create a new test application for new product. New Product
development needed new hardware and software for design verification. Design cost overrun project if data
is not collected quickly as possible. The collected test data from test application was used to release to
production. Impact: The typical net profit from a new product is 40%.
Analyzed existing ATLAS program and created duplicate lab view program that requires minimal hardware
changes. Upgraded existing ATLAS programs to more stable Lab view computer language. The old ATLAS
compiler was to be discontinued and future support would be cost prohibited. Impact: This effort saved
Honeywell 10s of thousand dollars in development cost.
Developed a new software application that optimized measurement speed. Individual Test durations
needed to be optimized to reduce overall device test time. Slow product test times needed to be addressed
to save factory overhead costs. Impact: The new platform C++ drivers reduced the product test time 30%,
received several certificates of accomplishment for early delivery of hardware/software for ATE customer
orders.
