Business Development Manager, Renewable Energy and Chemicals Division

Leading business development and commercialization of new to the world technologies in

Renewables: production of bio-oil based diesel and bio-oil based jet fuel derived from natural oils and

bio feedstocks- inedible oils, cellulosics, algae and other second generation non-food energy crops.

• Bus Dev: Exploring and evaluating cutting edge technologies in renewable energy, green

power and green chemicals for alliance, partnership and M&A opportunities.

o Forged a marketing alliance with a membrane technology company, Vaperma Inc.,

based in Quebec, Canada, to strengthen UOP offerings in bioEthanol markets and

enhance Vaperma’s offerings in global markets.

• Technology Scale up and Commercialization: Providing business support to champion UOP

based R&D programs through Stage Gate process and readying for commercial launch:

o Business lead on a novel adsorption technology based offering for Ethanol

Dehydration.

o Developing first customer/demo opportunities, developing business case, and creating

market demand for bio-derived jet fuel as a business/commercialization manager for

UOP’s DARPA funded green jet program.

VIDEOJET TECHNOLOGIES INC., Wood Dale, IL 2005 to 2007

An Industrial printer manufacturer, part of Danaher Corporation’s Product Identification platform.

Reporting to the Vice President of Engineering, program managed launch of new products, managed

offshore engineers and implemented business process improvements.

• Accelerated new product development of Videojet’s flagship inkjet printers from 12 to 8 months by

setting up and managing global development centers in India and streamlining knowledge transfer

across geographically dispersed engineering teams with $1.2 Million annual budget responsibility.

• Expanded Videojet’s product identification global footprint and generated incremental four year

cash of $10-$12 Million by launching two new industrial printers and program managing cross-

functional teams from R&D, engineering, global procurement, manufacturing, engineering,

marketing, accounting and field service.

• Reduced cycle time for introduction of new products with spares readiness from 6 months to 1

month by implementing a 12-step visual board process to track work flow of engineering change

order process.

• Created a “fast-track, spare part release” process that delivered spare parts that support the entire

line of Videojet product offerings to ship to customer on the same business day by alerting all

functional departments in a rapid response email system. Implemented this process through four

direct reports in the engineering change order and documentation control department.

HYRADIX INC., DesPlaines, IL 2002 to 2005

A hydrogen infrastructure equipment development company, a spin-off of UOP LLC.

Project Manager & Technical Specialist

Led development and rollout of LPG based fuel processor prototypes and spearheaded the effort for

readying the units for commercialization through technology development, cost reduction, and

performance monitoring of prototypes in field.

• Developing next generation hydrogen generation substations and fuel processors for residential

fuel cells with expanded fuel stocks- LPG and Ethanol, by managing multiple, cutting-edge,

internal and outsourced R&D programs with budgets of $1-$2 Million.

• Reduced prototype cost of Agilon fuel processor from $50K to $25K and achieved a

corresponding 60% reduction in size of the fuel processor unit through executing engineering

responsibilities in chemical process design and simulation, mechanical and engineering scale-up

of sub components, catalysts and design for manufacturing.

• Identified new markets for hydrogen generation systems and distributed power generation in Asia/

Pacific markets by initiating customer engagements and solidifying prospective

customers/partners in a business development and technical marketing role.

HONEYWELL INTERNATIONAL INC., Morristown, NJ 1995 to 2002

A diversified multinational that is a leader in introducing new products and technologies in aerospace

and chemicals. Merged with AlliedSignal Inc. in 1999.

Lead technologist and project manager for Honeywell’s fuel processing for fuel cells program.

• Actively supported launch of a new venture in distributed generation for Honeywell Power

Systems in fuel cells that was later acquired by GE Power Systems.

• Developed an integrated fuel cell-fuel reformer prototype as a team leader for fuel reformer

technologies and provided product planning for Honeywell/GE Hybrid Power Generation

business’s solid oxide fuel cell hybrid program.

• Enhanced Honeywell’s Engines & Systems Aerospace business unit revenues by $5M through

introducing improvements to existing product lines and introduction of new technologies based on

the proposed initiatives in fuel processing.

• Evaluated technical proposals and recommended for corporate research grants to promote

exploratory research as a member of the AlliedSignal Seed Research Evaluation Board chartered

to incubate strategically promising technologies.

• Provided a net bottom line gain of $2M savings/year for AlliedSignal’s SF6 plant by leading the

research team in a short timeline project that improved plant efficiency and achieved EPA targets.

• Delivered adsorbents to NASA for removing CO2 in the International Space Station by process
