General Dynamics Projects
Heavily active in the Software Development of LabVIEW and RF testing and development of the radio both on
the board level as well as on the module/component level. This testing requires in-depth development of
LabVIEW for testing on these platforms: TESTSTAND, LabVIEW, LabVIEW FPGA and LabWINDOWS CVI
• CPLD, DSP and FPGA testing, hardware and software development and debugging at radio level. Use
of JTAG, UART and other interfaces including using Xilinx and Analog Devices DSP software.
• Used VHDL, Verilog, Microsoft Visual Study and .Net Suites.
• Hardware Development, Integration and Testing
o Designed PCBs of the Digital Interface board for RF Radio testing and control. Provides direct
testing with LabVIEW, hardware, and software verification for the Digital team and RF
Engineering testing and validation.
o Used LabVIEW to validate the Digital board and software that was developed by the digital team.
o NI-FPGA, NI-6541, NI6533
Developed SPORT, SPI waveforms for radio control, programming and testing.
Developed FFT and Real-time RF analysis software.
• RF Radio Testing and integration– Final radio configuration
o Developed LabVIEW software for testing all aspects of RF and Digital controls of Radio.
o Performed RF testing on all aspects of the Radios functionality. Debugged and fixed hardware
issues. Wrote documentation and tutorials.
Some of the common RF tests: Gain, IP3, Image and RF Spurs, Noise Figure.
Tested UHF/VHF, SINCGARS, COSITE, T1C, to name a few.
• Automation / STE
o Developed Automated Test software for modules and board level testing for both Engineering and
Manufacturing.
o Designed PCBs for STE for use of sockets to test modules and RF interfacing for Radio level
testing of the final full up Radio.
• Other Hardware Designs
o RTD integration / development for thermal management of PA Modules in Radio.
DataSOFT Projects
• Develop LabVIEW Test Apps for development and testing of our RF projects in the lab.
• Research and development of SBIRs for JTRS projects.
o Research and write up documentation/reports as to compete for awards in all phases of SBIR
Contracts for JTRS-based Communications Technologies.
o Develop hardware and software to meet phase requirements, for example, development of
duplexers, diplexers, VHF/UHF Tunable filters and other radio components.
o Develop LabVIEW applications for presentations and demos for JTRS Forums and costumers.
o Travel to Forums around the country to demonstrate our products and give presentations at those
events.
Product / Test Engineer / Manager Tempe, AZ
Andigilog Incorporated 09-04 to 08-07
This is a start up company involved in research and development with its focus on Thermal Management in the
semiconductor industry. Products include Analog and Digital temperature sensors, fan motor control systems and
other related products.
Test/Product Engineering R & D- Test products- Probe, QA Gate, Final Test, packaging, new design
characterization, set-up, build boards, and configuration. Bench testing, HAST, HTOL, IBIS, Product
Characterization and the like. Also do In-House Testing for such things as longevity (Life Testing/QA), ESD and
Pin to Pin integrity. Work with vendors on different stages of manufacture and packaging, documented standard
products such as schematics, factory acceptance tests, manuals, and software revisions.
• Probe- Operate and maintain the Electroglas 4090 and 3001 for all product wafer cal processes and chuck
calibrations, process data and generate wafer maps. Work closely with the Design Team to develop new
product processes and with other employees to develop new software (LabView Test Stand) and testing
equipment. Design probe cards and work with 3rd party vendors with the needle arrangements based on die pad
orientation and other information.
• QA Gate/Metrology Bath- This QA Gate process is part of the Quality Control, Verification and
Characterization, but it also serves as a means to correlate processes between probe and final test. Bin samples
are soldered on test (load) boards and ramped over a temperature of 125C down to -40C in silicone oil.
o Test new products for functionality and accuracy over temperature and for collecting ROM data for
trim/calibration of all digital product types.
o Design test equipment, motherboards and software (LabView) including all testing load boards for both old
and new products. All circuit schematics and PCB layouts are submitted to 3rd party vendors for PCB
Board manufacturing; other vendors supply hardware instrumentation and components.
o Supply product samples for customer evaluation.
• Final Test- Assist in writing software (C++) and hardware interface for the Credence ASL1000 tester for each
product type. Test products for samples and define testing procedure based on the datasheets and strategies for
use by our 3rd party vendors to sort good product from bad.
• New Product development and support- Assembly/Test, packaging definition, Review/Update current
systems, Product realization, project management, product certification and launch support.
o Provide test characterization support, manage test specification, test documentation and test
characterization data during product design phase. Work closely with design engineers to develop test
technology & programs.
• Data/Product quality review- Yield analysis/review, Quality, Process Analysis, Audit functions, and “Closed
Loop” accountability.
• Failure Analysis- Failure Verification, X-ray Radiography, Curve Tracing, and/or send off to vendors for
Decapsulation and FIB.
SOFTWARE: Design, develop, and verify LabVIEW test software solutions used in obtaining test characterization
data for its integrity and accuracy and to help improve productivity and reduce test software development and
support efforts. Utilize new technologies if and when necessary to facilitate this. Software solutions consist of test
executives, instrument drivers, templates, interactive configuration systems, installable programs, software
troubleshooting tools, software automation, user interfaces and databases, etc. Utilized software change control tools
where necessary. Provided communications, support, documentation, and training as and when needed to ensure the
successful implementation of new test solutions and processes. Be a technical resource during the NPI Processes to
facilitate product introduction to Production.
HARDWARE: Designed, developed, and verify test fixtures and test hardware setups to facilitate test
characterization of new designs. Test instruments setup & instrument integration of both hardware & software tools
into systems.
