Global Head, Technical Operations
Head of Technical Operations for a global Contract Research Organization and Technology
Company, running SaaS eDC (electronic data capture), supporting users on clinical trials in over 40
countries worldwide, charged with all aspects of technology management, corporate infrastructure,
security, regulatory compliance, vendor management, training and support.
Support over 400 company owned laptops deployed globally clinical trial sites, including security,
hardware upgrades, patch management and remote support, supporting 9,000 users worldwide.
Re-negotiated vendor contracts to reduce annual spend by $500,000. Revamped all technology
purchasing procedures to leverage global technology spend.
Implemented virtualization technologies to consolidate 60% of the companies sever base onto
VMWare; reducing hardware and support costs by 50% while providing an enhanced regulatory
environment by working with development group to fast track testing and deployment of application

Designed network and project managed installation of, two 1,000-seat call center/pharmacy facilities;
managed migration from shared to switched platforms for three additional 1000-seat facilities,
implemented fully redundant tier III data centers in locations in New Jersey and Florida. Designed,
implemented and supported local and wide area network with 220 routers, 180 switches, 30,000 ports,
34 IGX wan switches, and voice/data integration in 36 offices nationwide.
Reduced annual data costs by 33% (over $1 million) while increasing total bandwidth by 2/3 after
implementing carrier-based ATM services, reducing dependency on traditional point-to-point circuits.
