Wrote two mini-games in Flash for Disney Channel Online Games Arena Challenge. Integrates

with multi-player DXD Library. Players can choose to participate in training mode to fine-tune

their skills on their own or join a tournament to play a variety of mini-games and challenge others

in multi-player mode.

Contract Engineer

Wrote a Blues Clues game in Flash for young children. Currently available for downloading from

NickJr.com. Sole programmer on project.

Completed World Championship Racing on the M2 platform, a realistic 3D driving simulation,

Atari Games Corporation 1986 - 1993

Senior Software Engineer (Entered as Associate Software Engineer)

Designed and implemented software for real-time embedded systems for use in coin-operated

video arcade games. Sole responsibility for the RAD animation tool, used by artists to create

characters and backgrounds for the games.

• Rapid prototyping software using a software state table.

• Project Leader, involving budgeting, scheduling, coordination of all departments

(animation, audio, hardware, mechanical engineering, tech pubs, graphic artists, and

marketing), as well as sole responsibility of the software and game design.

FIRMWARE EXPERIENCE

Pixim 2009

Contract Engineer

Completing Silicon Validation Testing before next generation chip set is taped out. Validating

integration of individual design blocks that have never been tested together before. Brought

team from being weeks behind schedule to meeting the current schedule by completing all

priority critical tasks. Found problems with the design, allowing the HW team to find a

workaround before release.

SanDisk Corporation 2001 - 2005

Senior Firmware Engineer

Designed and implemented firmware controlling the management of data stored on various flash

memory devices, including Compact Flash, Secure Digital, and USB Flash Drives. Code ran on

the ARC processor, a proprietary chip set, to deliver higher performance for the upcoming

product lines.

• Reliably delivered schedules, planning tools and documentation required for the next

generation firmware.

• Ran simulations for ROM code before taping out.

• Designed system used to identify ROM version at startup, using a software state table,

to avoid a very large switch statement containing every unique device type. Code was

very fast and small, and allowed old ROM code to recognize new devices created after

the ROM code was written and taped out.

Quantum Corporation/Maxtor Corporation 1997 - 2001

Senior Software Engineer

Completed Servo Track Writing Process for Fireball Plus LM drive, introducing new

technologies at the factory in Japan. Wrote embedded firmware for the SHARC ADSP-2106x

that accepted commands from the host software. Coordinated cross-team/cross-coast

contributions to the host software. Responsible for the development and maintenance of the latest

software required to verify and duplicate printed media patterns.

• New technologies that were introduced doubled the throughput at the factory, and

increased capability to meet the needs of the faster, higher track density drives of the

future.

• Trained all new servo track writer engineers that have been hired in the last year.

Cygnet Laboratories 1993 - 1995

Senior Software Engineer

Designed and implemented software customization features for a patient data management

system, running on an IBM PC. This highly customizable menu-driven system is used in Labor

and Delivery Rooms in hospitals across North America to keep data on the mother and her baby,

including the fetal heart rate and the mother's contractions, both in real-time.
