• Maintained and enhanced a discrete event simulator, written in C++ on a MIMD (Multiple Instruction
Multiple Data) computer. Ported discreet event simulator to run completely on a UNIX workstation,
which involved converting parallel code to scalar.
• Implemented a distributed application that linked several executables in a pipeline, enabling data to
pass between the processes via UNIX sockets. Each process ran on a UNIX workstation or a co-
processor board written in C, C++ or FORTRAN.
• Implemented memory management functions and reverse engineered a C program that had been
ported from FORTRAN for a program that calculated the orbits of satellites. The changes increased
performance in both running time and in the number of satellite orbits that could be calculated.
