BP3-Billing Pre Processor
This is a system used internally with interactions to AT&T provisioning/procurements systems
for pre processing the billing that needs to be done to the customer. Information comes to this system in
XML format with data containing the network components and its attributes being ordered by customer.
This system analyzes that data and generates Billing ID's (BEID's) depending on various business rules that
are offer specific. Once these BEID's are generated, the information is sent to a Global Billing Platform,
which generates the bills and sends it to customers.
Responsibilities:
* Contribution in defining the architecture of this billing system.
* As a project lead, was in charge of coordinating and overse eing the development efforts of the team
* Responsible for defining the business processes and creating the blueprint document for the BP3 system.
* Liaised with business and functional owner during high-level review sessions to derive and execute
action plans and meeting deadlines.
* Interfaced with business users to prepare and update Business Rules and System/Functional
Requirements.
* Implemented database PL/SQL stored procedures which does the lookup for Billing ID's based on the
input information and does post processing specific to offers such as EVPN, EVPN3+, GMIS.
* Implemented the parser logic, which parses the incoming XML information, formats it appropriately and
inserts it into the Oracle database using JDBC.
* Involved in the design/development of the Billing ID’s extract to be sent to the Billing platforms.
* Wrote Unix Shell scripts to automate the data extraction process including the FTP process to the clients.
* Implemented a mechanism for persistent storage of data in form of files incase the backend server is
down. The mechanism implemented periodically tries to post the information to the backend by picking the
data from the datastore if any.
* Involved in the implementation of web interface to view BEID's generated for a given ord er. This
interface provides the ability to add, delete and change BEID's as needed.
* Integrated into Corporate Web Services platform.
