PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
BAKER OIL TOOLS, Baker Hughes Inc., Broken Arrow, OK 2006 – 2009
Senior Design Engineer
Performed all phases of the project development process from design to testing of sub-surface safety valves for
oil production.
• Regularly performed cross-functional tasks including drafting and revising drawings of parts, which
expedited and reduced project times by weeks.
• Executed pressure and temperature calculations for harsh well conditions that ensured delivery of quality
products and protection of the environment.
• Managed custom design project tasks from conceptual design through prototype testing and customer
delivery that passed rigorous testing requirements on the first attempt and on one occasion set a high-speed
slam test record across all oil product companies with zero valve leakage to the environment.
• Recognized as an expert user of SolidWorks 3-D modeling software, with top grade results in all training
classes.
FLIGHT SAFETY INTERNATIONAL, Broken Arrow, OK 1999 – 2006
Software Engineer
Designed and installed Software for flight simulators.
• Performed diagnostics and analysis of computer integrated systems and site support that created a
seamless and uninterrupted training environment for pilots in training.
• Analyzed navigation systems and simulation programming that streamlined the system checkout and
training process. Performed immediate on-site maintenance to return the simulator to training readiness,
which saved money by eliminating downtime and loss of available hours for training.
• Composed the avionics portion of the customer test guide, which created a smooth checkout process and
resulted in a favorable response in a large contract government project.
JOHN WILLIAM MCARTHUR PAGE TWO
CENTRAL AND SOUTH WEST SERVICES, Tulsa, OK 1998 – 1999
Energy Planning Engineer
Performed cost related modeling of complex power plant operation scheduling scenarios including fuel
costing, heat rate calculations, economic analysis, and probabilistic modeling.
• Developed in-house reporting which resulted in shorter “sanity check” times.
• Prepared and submitted monthly regulatory filings to management for power demand requirements of
utilities in TX, OK, and AR that projected usage for scheduling work.
