Responsible for growth of ComfortChoice business for Carrier Electronics.
ComfortChoice is an internet communicating thermostat marketed to electric and gas
utilities to allow utility peak control. Established the team to develop the business strategy,
brief management of the market value and grow the business to over $5 Million in sales in
four years.
National Sales person for ComfortChoice. Key salesperson in coordinating with
potential customers, selling company’s solution and providing details of pricing, installation,
software hosting, and project management. Developed programs with several large
utilities including, ConEd, SCE, ComEd and First Energy. ConEd now has a program with
over 30,000 units installed.
Product Manager for ComfortChoice. As manager was responsible for developing an
understanding of the customer requirements and provided direction to engineering for
modifications resulting in the sale of the product. This often involved customization of the
product for the different customers. Developed requirements for future product
development including development of a Five Year Road Map.
During this period, also working as product manager for thermostats and continuing to
develop that business.

Global Electronics Product Manager,Transport Refrigeration
CTD (Carrier Transicold) Business Manager
Carrier Electronics provided the embedded electronic controls to Carrier Transicold (CTD).
Responsible for developing the electronic products strategy in Europe, North America and
Asia for these controls. This included developing an engineering plan, five year road map,
and obsolescence plan for each product (Container, Truck, and Trailer) and working with
CTD engineering groups in Europe, United States, and Singapore and the Carrier
Electronics engineering group in Syracuse to execute these plans.
Enabling our products to communicate via the internet for maintenance and service
information became a significant opportunity for Carrier. As Global Electronics Product
Manager was responsible for development of the strategy to accomplish remote
communications for all transport refrigeration products. The products needed are still
being developed by engineering. This will lead to a significant increase in uptime for our
refrigerated units and large increase in revenue for our service groups and local dealers.
Managed relationship between Carrier Electronics and Carrier Transicold. This was a
$48M business between Carrier Electronics and Carrier Transicold. Responsible for
overall management of areas such as pricing, resources, shipping, and quality.

Product Manager, Thermostats
After serving as the project leader of the thermostat products, was promoted to manage
the product line. Responsible for growing the thermostat business for Carrier Electronics.
This includes internal and external sales, developing niche products including the first
combined temperature and humidity controlled thermostat, and future product planning.
Unit volume is near 1 Million units.
Determined the requirements and specifications for Carrier’s first residential
communicating zoning system. This included working with a special dealer advisory group
and several different focus groups.
Managed 12 to 15 engineering and support resources and determining their priorities.

Project Leader, Thermostats
Developed the original proposal that convinced Carrier Electronics management to design
and manufacture our own thermostats instead of private branding.
Responsible for leading the cross functional team in development of the thermostats and
zoning projects from concept to production. This included hardware, software, plastic,
manufacturing, reliability, and purchasing. Developed six different models and five
different brands. First year product sales was over 140,000 units. Now, volume is near 1
Million units.
