specifying instruments and pulling together field installation packages for changes requested by the client. Responsible
for managing a field upgrade that involved extensive changes to a Foxboro DCS system at Eli Lilly. The change
involved the addition of 34 control processors to an existing system consisting of 17 control processors. This involved
fiber optic cabling and the installation of new equipment, and relocation of I/O. Project was managed over 5 months
and was completed on schedule and under the cost estimate.
DUKE FLUOR-DANIEL
PRINCIPAL ELECTRICAL ENGINEER & MANAGER 2001 (Power Generation & Distribution)
Responsible for auditing the electrical and design engineering of a 1600 Megawatt and an 800 Megawatt combined
cycle power plant using gas and steam turbines. The effort also included developing commissioning and qualification
procedures. Total project cost of 1.1 billion.
FLUOR DANIEL
PRINCIPAL ELECTRICAL & CONTROLS ENGINEER 1994-2000 (Food & Beverage)
Folger Coffee Plant Consolidation
Responsible for the Conceptual and Definition Engineering and Turnkey vendor qualification for the Electrical/Control
portion of the Coffee Can Packing effort. Responsible for managing the Electrical/Control Design for the Process,
Packing, Power and Facilities area of the project. Engineering staff consisted of In-house and third party engineering
firms. Overall project size was in the $80-90 million range. Maintaining a low engineering percentage was a major
challenge of this project. Major changes in the Process area, and increased Packing line efficiencies resulted in
additional challenges.
Heat Shrink Can Labeling
Involved in the Feasibility, Conceptual, Definition, Design, and Vendor qualification for this project. The Feasibility
phase involved pay out studies and the setting of reliability goals. The Conceptual phase continued with the
identification of technical studies, along with machine and control architectures. The Definition phase involved key
plant personnel to plan what was to be implemented in the Design phase. The evaluation of machine vendors and the
selection of an appropriate labeling equipment supplier were also part of this effort.
Peanut Butter Projects
Duties included the Definition and Design activities for a variety of plant improvement projects:
The Installation of a jar bundler & modernization of peanut butter jar filling line, The design of a tractor trailer drop
lot requiring remote access and surveillance devices, the upgrade of an empty jar delivery system, the installation of
surge tables, tray-formers, and new unit load formers. Other activities included the auditing and update of existing
drawings in order to streamline future maintenance of existing equipment.
Tray Packing Initiative (Conversion from Product Shipping cases to Shrink Wrap Trays)
Responsible for managing C&IS activities for two different plant sites. Duties included selection & managing third
party contractors, and engineering efforts of equipment suppliers. Responsible for delivering a custom operator
interface (Wonderware) for a European equipment supplier, and integrating with the equipment before shipment from
the vendor. Effort also included modification of a Plant wide Wonderware system with EtherNet to streamline plant -
monitoring functions of production equipment.
Commercial Measured Brew filters
2 of 5 T. A. Zajdel
Responsible for managing C&IS activities of a third party vendor, and integrating that vendor’s equipment into a
system. The vendor was developing prototype equipment, and was consulted with in the areas of design schedule,
control architecture, operator interface requirements, safety, coordinated drive systems, web handling and sensor
applications. The equipment was responsible for high speed "packetization" of coffee granules. A Mechanical
Engineering role for scrap handling and recycling was executed in addition to the electrical/controls role for this
installation.
MACHINE CONTROL ENGINEER (Machine & Process Development)
Ivory Soap, Procter & Gamble, Cincinnati, Ohio
Efforts involved Machine development work. Analysis of recently developed equipment with high speed photography
was used to determine the requirements for the addition of servo equipment. Other areas of high speed product
handling were studied by applying sensors coupled with data acquisition equipment.
MACHINE DRIVE CORPORATION
SALES ENGINEER & MANAGER (Outside Sales of Electrical & Control Equipment))
Responsibilities included managing large OEM accounts, increasing customer base, addition of new product lines, and
dealing with manufacturers & suppliers. Duties also included Strategic business planning.
PROJECT MANAGER (Wastewater Treatment)
Responsible for overseeing engineering projects for Waste Water treatment and in the area of custom- engineered
servo, drive, and control system packages for printing presses and packaging equipment.
FLUOR DANIEL

Bar Soap Modernization, Procter & Gamble, Ivorydale, Ohio
Responsible for managing Electrical Control activities for Bar Soap Making, Packing and Finished Product Handling.
Effort included design responsibility for a bar soap making and packaging line.
CCDI CORPORATION
MANAGER OF TECHNOLOGY & PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT (Test Equipment for Aircraft & Government))
Responsible for development, design & production of an absolute referenced effective flow area stand for the testing of
aircraft engine parts. This allowed testing of parts in two minutes, which previously required one hour with then
available industry standard equipment. The design and manufacture of extremely large sonic nozzles was a
requirement of the test stand, and was managed directly with a Chinese manufacturer. I, also was responsible for
managing portions of a portable electronic warfare calibration facility for the US Air Force. This facility was later
