NanoGram is a high-tech solar/photovoltaic, nanotechnology and IP company
providing advanced material technologies to the photovoltaic, LCD, battery,
and electronics materials markets.
Vice President NanoGram Solar & Business Unit Head Thin Film Solar
Challenge: Generate revenue through product sales, partnership alliances,
and IP licensing opportunities. Reformulate business model to accelerate
revenue, lead company’s strategic direction, establish global sales and
marketing organization in Japan and Korea.
Results:
• Repositioned NanoGram’s technology IP licensing orientation to a
product driven company. Recently completed printed electronics
(silicon ink) with major Japanese polycarbonate producer for Joint
Development Agreement.
• Established strategic partnership with global semiconductor equipment
company for the commercialization of NanoGram’s high rate thin film
silicon deposition equipment for photovolaics. (2008)

Flextronics (Multek) is the world’s premier contract manufacturer and
high volume printed circuit board manufacturer.
Vice President Sales & Marketing – Sheldahl Division 2001-2005
Division leader for $65M business unit and manager of sales group, product
managers, and customer service.
Challenge: In 2002, Sheldahl exited Chapter 11 with a new management
team. Played a pivotal role in rebuilding the business portfolio and quickly
returning the company to profitability before eventually selling the company
to Flextronics.
Results:
• Management team member that led Sheldahl out of Chapter 11.
• In three years, the team transformed the company from a low margin,
automotive dominated supplier to a profitable, balanced portfolio
including: cell phones, printers, and automotive.
• As part of the executive management/ownership team, executed a
value creation strategy that netted the major share holders a 6X return
on investment in less than 24 months.

General Manager Display Products 1998 -2001
Challenge: Launched a new product line: role-to-role patterned ITO for the
plastic display and touch screen market.
Results:
• Developed new product concept for patterned ITO, targeted at the
emerging plastic display market.
• Obtained $3.6M grant from the United States Display Consortium.
• Developed and implemented strategy for Sheldahl's ThinFoil™ lithium
for lithium sulfur polymer batteries. Obtained a $2M grant from ATP NIST
with two joint venture partners: Eveready and PolyPlus Battery.
Director, Europe (Paris, France) 1992 - 1997
Challenge: Develop the European market for Sheldahl products and
generate a significant revenue stream.
Results:
• Created and implemented European strategic plan that resulted in $8M
annual sales and involved a cost budget of $0.6M. Eventually, European
business equated to nearly 40% of the company’s total business.
• Hired, trained, and supervised three European technical sales engineers,
two distributors, and two sales representative firms.
• Obtained $2.5M in annual business from Siemens Automotive (Toulouse,
France) for its power distribution module for the 1996 Renault Megen.
