Fidelity Personal & Workplace Investing (PWI) Group (formerly Fidelity Employee Services Company):
PWI provides retirement services associated with defined benefit and contribution administration, and stock pan
services, to more than 20 million participants.
Managed a multi-regional development group with teams located both domestically and overseas, made up of
directors, program managers, system analysts, architects, and developers with responsibility for hiring decisions,
skill development, performance evaluation, budget management, and determination of staffing needs and levels;
Responsible for $5.8M discretionary system development portfolio.
• Oversaw $3.5M development project for automation to reduce risk and manual inefficiencies in
reconciliation processing done across operations groups. Created single, integrated and scalable platform
utilizing SunGard Intellimatch product and Java based objects on data warehousing architecture. Directed
analysts, architects, DBAs & developers from requirement definition to production implementation.
Managed relationship with executive business sponsor and software vendors. Final product cut operational
costs by 28%.
• Directed design and development of $2M integrated reporting and workflow analytic tool using Oracle
Business Intelligence (OBI) architecture to analyze work activities performed by back-office associates.
Tool enabled operations management to analyze trends, set employee performance goals, and more
effectively allocate staffing resources. Technology eliminated manual needs, and reduced individual
customer servicing challenges by 32%.
• Managed the evolution of a single web-based (.NET) platform solution for the defined contributions,
defined benefits, and human resource services space, to calculate, allocate, and distribute income earned on
money received and invested in overnight short-term investment vehicles, reducing time spent on manual
efforts by operations personnel. Led developers and DBAs in consolidating redundant DB2 storage areas
and creating common data access paths. Created documentation and training for other development groups.
• Responsible for decommissioning initiative. Directed business and systems analyst research in identifying
processing represented by obsolete technologies and redundant applications. Focused efforts on retiring
legacy systems, and redefining training and operational procedures with business owners. Targeted over
$300K in yearly savings for firm in 2009.
• Controlled capital expenditures with outside vendors and contractual partners. Renegotiated contracts,
reassigned personnel, and reorganized program delivery targets, cutting capital system costs being incurred
by 30%, while successfully completing agreed upon discretionary project targets for Fiscal 2008.
Director of Development, Product Master/Dividend/Proxy Processing (2005-2007)
Fidelity Brokerage Company
Managed personnel and software development directed at processing product master reference and pricing data,
as well as dividend and proxy information, for Fidelity Brokerage Systems. This was a Cobol/CICS/MVS based
mainframe platform utilizing DB2.
• Managed projects to expand and automate referential data and end-of-day pricing associated with Fixed
Income instruments. Functionality introduced included enhancing Step-up and Variable rate information
maintenance, expanding and improving automated “real-time” descriptive data vendor feeds using a vendor
(Interactive Data) service “SIRS On-Demand”, and Redemption and Call features management.
• Effectively served as an escalation point between technology development group and executive business
sponsor, as well as with other technology providers with in the firm. Responsible for establishing and
maintaining servicing support model associated with system software and required 24x7 availability.
• Supervised automation of a system for the set-up of financial market instruments, and close of business
pricing for those instruments, when trading in non-domestic (U.S) currencies; reducing manual efforts by
operational personnel. Created Java based tool to allow access from retail DB2 warehouse to supplemental
information stored in multiple distributed systems utilized by multiple business units.
• Directed project for the creation of reference and pricing data on the brokerage platform to enable more
versatility in setting margin maintenance and special requirements by margin back-office operations group.
• Managed development and implementation of the technical architecture associated with instrument
descriptive data and end-of-day pricing, supporting a “multi-company” self-clearing organizational service
model infrastructure within the present brokerage platform.

Increasing levels of technical and management responsibilities for a development group associated with Tax Lot
accounting/tracking across the Fidelity Brokerage System’s platform.
• Managed creation and implementation of historical tracking of cost basis for mutual fund and equity
products in 1099 reportable brokerage accounts as defined by the IRS 550 and 551 publications, for both
Fidelity’s retail and supported correspondent clearing firms. Developed in C, C+, and complemented with
Java based tools, the infrastructure utilized TUXEDO on top of a UNIX based system.
• Directed design and creation of an XML-based data exporting process for communicating and sharing
customer data with non-Fidelity tax preparation products on the open market (Tax Cut and Turbo Tax).
Required creation of a TCP/IP messaging tool able handle over a 1.5M transaction requests annually.
Functionality provides customers with convenience, consistency, accuracy and time savings in tax reporting.
