SELECTED ACHIEVEMENTS

Project Management

• Employed internal and outsourced technical, manufacturing and logistics resources

developing and implementing a CaF2 optic recycling process saving the company greater

than $2M annually. The project produced incoming test methodology and criteria,

processing specifications and procedures, and product testing. The new product/processes

were qualified internally and then validated in field operation.

• Led a team in transferring two core technology manufacturing processes to Korean

manufacturing facility. This project entailed creating/updating process documentation,

transferring or procuring tools and equipment, training, line installation and qualification.

The transition saves the company approximately $1M annually in import duties and shipping

costs.

• Facilitated nine teams in developing and documenting the product development process. The

project’s product defined processes, activities and deliverables for each functional area

involved in the product development process by development phase. The documentation was

then embedded in a web based tool that allowed all company locations to access the

documentation along with templates and examples of development deliverables. These tools

saved hundreds of hours during the development cycle.

Process Development/Improvement

• Employed various statistical techniques defining pilot and full scale thick film manufacturing

processes for ceramic packaging start-up company. Scaled processing from a lab setting in

Pennsylvania to full scale at the California manufacturing facility. Resulting processes

performed at world class yields and cycle times.

• Reformulated, qualified and implemented thick film material enhancing rheological

properties to ensure improve product quality. Improvement eliminated stop ship due to

internal defect of company’s number one product line.

• Developed, qualified, and implemented recycling processes for thick film materials. Annual

material savings of $1.5 million. Reduced hazardous waste by 30%.

• Employing Design of Experiments in optimizing green tape slurry prep/casting process to

meet capacity requirements. Capacity increased > 100%. Yield increase 7%. Hazardous

waste reduced 25%.
