WORK HISTORY
October 2008 to Present
On retainer for Strategic Contract Resources Inc. as a contract chemist/technician to
provide laboratory support to the chemical/petrochemical industry on an international
basis. I am seeking another position as the contract to which I was assigned became non-
existent and future assignments became unclear.
I am now off retainer and actively job seeking.

April 2008 to October 2008
Finished legal affairs of family estate and completed renovations to the family home, then
went on vacation abroad.
Jan 2003 to April 2008
Left employment in New Orleans for Montgomery, Alabama to care for severely ill parents.
Began employment with the R&D department of Rheem Water Heater Manufacturing
Montgomery, Alabama in Sept 2005. Activities at Rheem included daily and continual
determination of gas heating values, maintenance and trouble shooting of gas
chromatograph, conducted D.O.E energy effiency testing on water heater prototypes, and
conducted FVIR (flammable vapor ignition resistance) testing on gas fired water heater
prototypes. Left Rheem manufacturing in April 2008 after both parents had passed away
by the end of 2007 in order to settle affairs of their estate which was still on going.
Supervisor at Rheem was Jack Scanlon.
December 1998 to Jan 2003
Employed by Caleb Brett (Intertek Testing Services) as Chromatography Chemist in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Primary duties included:
- Operation and maintenance of the High Temperature Simulated Distillation Program at the New Orleans
laboratory facility.
- Performance of other physical and chemical testing in accordance with ASTM procedures.
- Maintenance of statistical quality control.
- Trouble shoot analytical problems within the gas chromatography department.
- Maintenance and repair of gas chromatography instrumentation.
Supervisors were Terry Thompson, Scott Fenwick, and Chris Petit.
April 1997 to May 1998
Employed by Caleb Brett (Intertek Testing Services) as Laboratory Manager in Chickasaw, Alabama.
Primary duties included:
- Instigation of the High Temperature Simulated Distillation Program
- Maintenance of all laboratory records.
- Performance of physical and chemical testing in accordance with ASTM procedures.
- Maintenance of statistical quality control.
- Provide the laboratory with ISO 9001 certification.
- Trouble shoot analytical problems within the lab as well as other Caleb Brett labs within the Southeast
U.S.
- Initiation of business development practices in order to increase laboratory revenue.

March 1993 to April 1997
Employed by Separation Systems, Inc. in Gulf Breeze, Florida.
Primary duties included:
- Design and testing of custom gas chromatographic systems and associated software for industries on a
worldwide basis.
- Installation of said systems at their respective job sites.
- Training of personnel in the use of said systems at said job sites.
- Performance of research and development in the field of simulated distillation and detailed hydrocarbon
analysis
- Performance of chemical analysis involved primarily in ASTM Round Robins, and formulation of gas
chromatographic analytical standards for sale on a worldwide basis.

November 1990 to March 1993
Employed by Analytical Technologies Inc., Pensacola Florida. Primary duty was trace metals analysis
utilizing graphite furnace atomic absorption, Other duties included writing and revising S.O.P.'s (Standard
Operational Procedures), maintenance of analytical standards, flame atomic absorption analysis, and record
keeping, Also served as Safety Representative for the Metals Department from March 1991 to March 1993.
Supervisor was Jim Herred.
April 1986 to November 1990
Self employed as a realtor in Montgomery, Alabama. Involved in both residential and commercial sales.
April 1983 to April 1986
Employed by Catalytic Reactors Inc. in Prattville, Alabama as chemist and research associate. Research
centered primarily on the production of gasoline and specialty hydrocarbons from simple feed stocks such
as methane, methanol, ethane, ethanol, ethylene, synthesis gas, and cellulosic materials derived from
various forms of biomass. The primary method of analysis of the end products was by gas chromatography.
Duties included performance of all chemical analyses, design, construction, and testing of bench and pilot
plant processes. Performed exploratory research using a broad spectrum of zeolytic catalysts using a
variety of simple feed stocks.
When the above research was fairly complete, emphasis was shifted to the production of ethanol from
cellulosics obtained from municipal solid waste. The process not only involved the production of ethanol
but also centered upon resource recovery. A six ton per day pilot plant was erected at the Johnson
Environmental Energy Center at the University of Alabama at Huntsville for the purpose of further testing.
Duties during this period included actual construction and testing of the pilot facility, computerized
economic modeling, and performance of any required chemical analyses.

September 1981 to April 1983
Self employed as a farmer in Pintlala, Alabama after running out of funds to go further in obtaining another
college degree.
September 1980 to September 1981
Employed by Hess Oil Virgin Islands Corporation as an environmental analyst at their
refinery on the Island of St. Croix, U.S Virgin Islands. Duties included environmental
surveillance of the refinery, performance of chemical analyses, air pollution monitoring,
process unit inspections, oil spill control, hazardous waste materials management, and
assimilation of environmental data for reporting to the Virgin Islands Authority and the
EPA.
Supervisors were Mike Holcomb and Barry Sams.
September 1979 to September 1980
Assisted in research performed by Y.A, Liu, Ph.D. on coal desulfurization using magnetic
separation techniques at the Department of Chemical Engineering at Auburn University in
Auburn, Alabama. Extensive course work in chemical engineering was done at this time.
July 1976 to September 1979
Employed as the Director and Chemist of the Industrial Pollution Control Laboratory at the
Montgomery Water Works in Montgomery, Alabama. Duties included supervision of
laboratory personnel, performance of chemical analyses, characterization of industrial
pollution sources, and evaluation of data obtained from all testing.
