resulting migration to faster systems running 4 2.6GHz Dual-Core AMD Opteron Processors with 64 Gig

of memory.

HP-UX Administration (thru version 11.xx)

Proficient using most HP-UX Administrative tools including HP Logical Volume Manager (LVM), Veritas

Volume Manager and file system, MC/ServiceGuard, Process Resource Manager (PRM),

Perfview/Measureware, Glance, Ignite, NFS and NIS. Understand HP-UX high-availability including

MC/ServiceGuard deployment, high-available network design, and integration with high-available

enterprise storage (SAN-based) components. Familiar with HP PA-RISC hardware including A-class and

RP-class servers.

Installed, configured and patched HP-UX 11.00 and HP-UX 11.I operating systems.

Installed and configured software including Openview Performance Agent (OVPA), Openview

Performance Monitor (OVPM), Control-M Agent, Control-M Server, CPLEX, OPL, Java,

PostgreSQL, Oracle Client, Oracle, GoGlobal Server and Agent, Glance and Apache.

Created sub panels and icons for individual users to run applications installed on server from within

Migrated all account responsibilities within DCE from System Engineering Group to Security Group.

Created scripts to run within various scheduling products that created bootable recovery tapes of

Significant Achievement

Member of team that achieved significant capital cost savings by consolidating workload of several

smaller servers/workstations to fewer, larger server cluster environments. Results included faster, more

efficient systems and elimination of 50 UNIX workstations.

Member of San Migration Project that identified files systems on older disk arrays on servers that needed

to be migrated to new disk arrays. Supplied information needed to make disk visible to the servers from

new disk array. Responsible for verifying all file systems were properly identified, the new disks were

visible, the required disk space was available, migrating data from old disk to new disk, coordinating with

other groups (users, application support, DBAs) using servers of work activity and scheduled outages.

Distributed Systems Support (1995 – 2000)

Provided 2nd level support that originally encompassed work on PCs, Novell Servers, AIX and HP-

UX Servers.

Rebuilt Novell Servers and restored data from backups after hard drive failure.

Performed administrative tasks on Novell Servers and worked with local departmental contacts.

Installed Microsoft Office, Attachmate software (3270 Terminal Emulator and specialized Terminal

Emulators), printer queues and configured jetdirect printers.

Worked with UNIX on both workstations and servers.

Remotely rebuilt application environments on HP-UX airport workstations prior to the use of Ignite.

Performed all initial troubleshooting and worked with Systems Engineers / Applications Developers.

IBM Mainframe Coverage (1989 – 1995)

Monitored batch job stream operating on four IBM mainframes.

Partnered with Console Operators, DBAs, Application Developers Mainframe Systems Engineers.

Corrected scheduling and JCL problems on 2nd shift.

Troubleshot problems reported from online users, batch and ftp transmissions. Escalated to DBA or

Application Developers as needed.

Backed out and reran batch jobs as needed.

Trained new members on the shift.

Significant Achievement

Member of three person team that deployed Control-M scheduler software on a HP-UX server for a new

application being deployed on the server. The team was working with the Control-M vendor testing a

beta version of their ECS GUI product that communicated with Control-M on both the IBM Mainframe

and HP-UX server. The application used an Informix database that I worked with the DBA on setting up

backups for the logical logs and the database.
