On behalf of the EEOC, I litigated in federal court suits alleging violations of federal
statutes prohibiting discriminatory employment practices. I reviewed and categorized
charges for potential litigation. I also assisted in or directed the investigation of
charges that appeared to have strong litigation potential. I routinely negotiated
settlements of lawsuits and assisted in the conciliation of charges.
In October, 2007, I second-chaired a trial in the Eastern District of Arkansas, EEOC v.

I defended Postal Service management against complaints of wrongful discipline
before the Merit System Protection Board and against allegations of discriminatory
employment practices before hearing judges of the EEOC. I also advised managers
and supervisors on proposed disciplines, up to and including termination. I routinely
won my cases on motions for summary judgments. I had four cases to proceed all the
way to hearing; I prevailed in all four cases. The cases that were not won on
summary judgment or at hearing, were settled for small amounts of money or for
some non-monetary concession, i.e, letter of apology or a shift change. (Contact
