Personal:
I am the second of thirteen children (I'm an accountant! I can do the math!). Having such a
large family is fun and provides for lots of excitement. My older brother is a computer programmer
and my younger brother is also studying accounting. I enjoy sports, music, songwriting, movies, and
drawing. My family moved from Maryland to the Springfield area six years ago and I enrolled in
MSU not long after. I had decided to earn an accounting degree and heard that MSU had a good
accounting program.
This May, I graduated with my Masters, and I sat for the CPA exam in the summer. I had
heard the tests were difficult and was nervous when I first began the process. I have since passed
three sections of the exam and am still waiting for the results from the fourth. I received a
communication from NASBA saying that it could be as late as January before I know, so I guess I
might be in suspense for another three months! In the meantime, after having to go through the
rigamarole of the tests, I'm relieved to be able to finally start looking for a job. I've been hoping to
find an organization that is committed to high-quality accounting and which sponsors a good work
environment.
