my class. I was in the Beta Club, Student Council and Annual Staff. I attended Okaloosa-
Walton Junior College (pre-pharmacy) for two semesters, then moved to Panama City to
work and go to school at night at Gulf Coast Community College. I moved to Tallahassee to
enroll in the court reporting program at Lively Vocational-Technical School in 1981. I
received a certificate of court reporting in 1984. I studied and obtained a Florida real
estate license in 2003. I maintain this license by obtaining 14 hours of continuing
education every 2 years. While with ERA, I availed myself of many online courses and
training seminars. I manage my contacts with a lead management program online and use
a smart phone to increase productivity. I use several computer programs, including the
ones in Microsoft Office and various photography editing software programs such as Adobe
and Visual Tours. I read professional trade publications and attend seminars to stay
competitive. Starting in 1985, I’ve also taken courses at PJC.
Qualification Highlights
Business Development – I assembled samples and catalogues of all the different
components of a home. I researched to determine levels of upgrades and compiled a
30+ page color selection form which made the process simple to understand by the
buyers, the builder, superintendent and office staff. I competitively shopped and
merchandised the model homes and transformed them into showcases that
increased sales and prestige for Tempo Homes. I was instrumental in being one of
the first builders in our area to have a web marketing presence and a professionally
produced color brochure. I was a free-lance court reporter locally for 9 years.
When I took an extended maternity leave in 1993, many of my clients pledged their
loyalty to hire me if I decided to report again.
Communication – I have the ability to achieve desired results through a combination
of diplomacy, negotiations, written/verbal communications, accountability and an
honest concern for my clients’ needs. As a builder, these skills were used to convey
the desires of our clients to the staff and the sub-contractors to achieve the building
of our buyers’ dream homes. Change orders became extremely detailed and the
management of these communications became crucial to not only the satisfaction
level of the buyers, but also to the bottom line of Tempo Homes’ profitability. As a
realtor, negotiating deals for buyers and sellers is tantamount to their success and
gratifying to me as well.
Financing – As a business owner, I have a deep understanding that it often takes
money to make money. I have sought competitive pricing in the building of homes
and assisted customers in achieving the “best bang for their buck” by sharing my
experiences. I have implemented budgets for the operation of my businesses as a
court reporter, homebuilder and real estate associate and managed my personal
investments and operating budget.
Honors – numerous outstanding home awards from the Pensacola Parade of Homes, the
Navarre Area Board of Realtors and the Building Industry Association of Okaloosa County.
I was the recipient of the ERA Gloria White Customer Care award in 2006.
