Senior Programmer - Micro-Tel (Nov 2002 – May 2009)

Part of a small team responsible for Micro-Tel’s primary product, Microcall - call

accounting software that collects calls from a phone switch, assigns them to employees in

a company directory and provides costing, reporting, monitoring with alarm notification,

archiving and other functions on those calls.

• Responsible for the design and implementation of new base classes, database tables

and relations and user interfaces (MS Windows dialogs). Designed and implemented

import/export functionality for relational data which supports several different

formats including generic and which supports filtering and conversions. Designed

reports and wrote code to generate those reports. Tasked with troubleshooting

problems and fixing bugs throughout the product. Technologies used were object

oriented C++, MFC, Windows C++ Class Resource Library (CLR), Standard

Template Library (STL), SQL, user interface programming, MS Developer Studio

(6.0 and 2008), MS SourceSafe, MS SQL Server, IIS, HTML, Dundas Charts, Visual

Assist and TeamTrack.

• Was sole Web Forms programmer. Responsible for developing internal tools used

with a prototype for a new product in 2002 and 2003. In 2008, wrote a web-based

representation of the telephone directory currently being used as a marketing tool on

Microcall’s web site. Technologies used were C#, Web Forms, server controls,

Solutions Engineer - Par Technologies / Ausable Solutions (Feb 1999 – Sept 2002)

Ausable provided customers with customized systems to allow users to capture data

through RF devices. These systems would then update a database with the captured data

and then would usually feed the data into SAP or another mainframe or AS/400 based

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) via 5250, 3270 or VT220 emulation.

• Customized our products to design, develop and implement data collection systems

for our customers. Technologies used were C/C++, SQL, Oracle Pro C, Visual Basic

(VB), Windows CE, a proprietary language, MS Developer Studio, API

Programming, Crystal Reports, BEA MessageQ, SAP R/3 DCOM Connector,

WinCVS, MS Power Point, MS Office, FTP, barcoding, RF devices (Symbol,

PCAnywhere, WinVNC and RemotelyAnywhere.

• Responsible for the on going modification of databases including table definitions,

Volunteer - North Point Community Church (Mar 2000 – May 2001)

Senior Software Developer - Lithonia Lighting (Sept 1996 – Feb 1999)

Member of teams responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of

Lithonia Lighting's business systems. Worked an automated distribution system for

Lithonia Lighting's warehouses and a manufacturing reporting system for its plants.

• Wrote C/C++ DLLs and executables for servers running on the Windows NT and

OS/2 operating systems. These modules provided business logic and database access

to VB clients and were used to push data across the company's network.

Technologies used include: C/C++, SQL, VB, Windows NT, Windows 95, OS/2,

MS Developer Studio, DB/2, ODBC, API Programming, DLL Programming, bar-

Systems Engineer - Intergraph Corporation (July 1990 - Sept 1996)

• Systems Engineer (April 1995 – Sept 1996) - Responsible for the design,

implementation, testing, and maintenance of customized rulebases for utility

companies. Technologies used were C, C++, MDL, Oracle, Microsoft and Informix

databases, MS Exchange Server, MS Windows NT, UNIX, MicroStation, VB, MS

testing, and maintenance of custom geographic image processing systems.
