• The Internal Revenue Service – to procure two Private Letter Rulings allowing the insurance premium to
be designated as an investment and paid benefits as a return on investment;
• 401k vendors -- Fidelity, SunGard and StateStreet -- to architect recordkeeping processes that are
compliant with the IRS code and insurance contract regulatory governance;
• Disability Insurance Carriers and reinsurers – UNUM, MetLife and DRMS -- to develop and file the new
product disability insurance contracts in each state’s Department of Insurance;
• Initiated development of employee communication and education modules that engage with
personalized benefit and premium illustrations and exhibit risk to anticipated retirement portfolio
forecasts via a multi-media approach to support enrollment.
