Buyer and Production Control Supervisor

• Purchased all injection molded plastic components from domestic and

international vendors. Engaged in NPI buying for engineering projects,

conducted supplier quality audits at vendor locations. Reduced NRE costs

associated with molded plastics tooling.

• Researched, developed, and implemented new shop floor control

application and reporting. 12 week firm schedule enabled JIT

manufacturing and lean staffing. Increased finished goods dollars/direct

labor dollars by 15%.

• Identified issue with growing inventories and developed report pulling

data from ERP system to rank inventory dollars by item number. Working

with materials manager, communicated to purchasing and other

departments. Reduced inventories by over $1 million in one quarter.

• Led a team including master scheduler reporting to me and an account

manager and IT professional to develop an electronic order confirmation

system and write a process document to better track status of order

confirmations and reduce lead time. Able to reduce average lead time to

orders confirmed from 2 weeks down to 3 days.

• Took the lead in integration efforts of materials departments when Micro

Power acquired a company in Redmond, Washington. This included

aligning processes, migrating ERP system over to the new division, and

taking on remote management of planning employees.

Planning Analyst and Master Scheduler

• Took on all forecasting and master scheduling duties for site’s highest

revenue program for our top customer. Identified key weaknesses in

planning methods and partnered with engineering and purchasing to

resolve. End result was 99% on time delivery and customer’s highest

supplier scores for over 2 quarters. This led to 10% increase in market

share from 45% to 55% and awards of new programs.

• Developed framework for a shortage reporting tool by surveying Tualatin

and Austin sites. Teamed with IT systems analyst to build web based

portal solution to query Oracle database and provide real time material

shortage information for existing work orders. This Shortage Report tool

allowed planning and purchasing to focus on critical few material

shortages, allowed accurate “what if” scenarios, and increased our service

levels while reducing inventory, expedites, and other soft costs.

• Led all site planning including participating with McKinsey consultants in

value stream mapping the order fulfillment cycle. Mentored two new

production planners. Generated reports each month on revenue forecast

dollars, on time delivery, and product margins.

the database with temp hires, and train all City of Eugene staff. I
