Project Experience:
Business Systems Analyst
Metlife September 2007 - December 2008
• Reviewed and analyzed the business requirements that described enhancements to an
eBusiness Human Resources application. Investigated and determined solutions to address
requirements. Articulated solutions in writing in a functional specification document. In addition,
created a traceability matrix. As a result the developers had detailed information to commence
the design and the business had confidence all their requirements were addressed.
• Led a JAD session with developers and project leader to define the detailed requirements for an
eBusiness project. Incorporated the requirements into use cases. Therefore, testers had detail
information to write test cases and scripts.
• Oversaw testing which included unit, systems, regression, and UAT testing for an eBusiness
project. Presented to the testers the enhancements. Reviewed test scenarios for completeness
and accuracy. Led bi-weekly meetings with testing and developers. Managed the defects. As a
result the test cycle completed on schedule.
Short-Term Assignments August 2006 - December 2006
• Merrill Lynch - Created a quick reference card for an internally developed Unix function. Wrote a
Systems Requirements Specification that described enhancements to a Financial Advisor tool.
Therefore, business users had a resource to refer to for information on the function and the
systems changes.
• Avaya - Revised and standardized an 80 page Marketing and Sales User Guide with
contributions from multiple writers. As a result the document had one voice.
American Reinsurance December 2002 - June 2006
• Acted as the business single point of contact to the underwriters for their questions regarding data
of an in-house application. Investigated questions by creating and running ad hoc SQL queries
and working with developers. The result was reports with quality answers presented to the
underwriters.
• Wrote release notes for programmers and testers in projects that adhered to the Software
Development Life Cycle (SDLC). These notes outlined the software changes for an in-house
underwriters’ application, which was developed in Visual Basic and PL/SQL. As a result
programmers reduced time to produce code.
• Created and executed test cases for unit, systems, regression and UAT testing. New
enhancements of application went into production with no major problems to the users.
