PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
TEXAS INSTRUMENTS 1987-2009
Product Engineering Technician, Mixed Signal Automotive, Military Products Dallas, & Sherman,
TX (1998– 2009)
Responsible for sustaining technical functions in support of engineering activities for
electrical test program development, design-checkout, assembly of prototype
electromechanical systems, and specialized test equipment. Traveled between Dallas
or Sherman as required by business needs.
Developed program code to test analog and digital integrated circuits on automatic test
equipment (ATE) for probe, final test, and on bench equipment.
Worked with product engineering to evaluate and characterize new products and ensure test
hardware and test programs were in place for the production operation.
Conducted tests and employed checks to ensure the highest quality and reliability of products in
accordance with specifications and standards and achieve greater than 98% known good product.
Help engineers identify and determine root cause of defective products, and implement 8D
corrective procedures to support RMR customer application issues.
Worked across organization boundaries to plan and submit product for environmental stress
testing, and perform pre and post electrical testing to ensure quality and reliability of the parts.
Test Technician, Military / Space Products, Midland, TX (1987-1998)
Primary responsibility for final test support of integrated circuits for military and space
production operations. Worked as a 2nd shift production support lead test technician responsible
for the final electrical test of Military / Space integrated circuits.
Oversaw the production set up of test equipment for the test operators and recommended and
initiated test program / hardware changes affecting manufacturability of products.
Optimized ATE programs improving production yields, on time deliveries, and reducing
manufacturing cost and lead times
Reduced manual handling of devices by 20% by implementing “notch up” testing at -55c test
Developed and organized training material and conducted class room instruction on the
programming of ATE (Impact) equipment.
Maintained device test boards and fixtures to ensure accurate testing results
Advised engineers on test capabilities of ATE and bench with regard to validity of measured
parameters
