Project: Web Order Entry

Web Order Entry, is a java based enterprise online order entry application targeting 40% savings

to newspapers by automating the ad entry process. The application integrates legacy classified

systems used by newspapers with the online world.

• Synergized the efforts of 4 people team to develop a featured rich product which is extremely scalable

and seamlessly integrates with different versions of back-end systems being run by diverse

newspapers.

• Performed gap analysis, and identified features that need custom solution.

• Designed this application as a product which could be used by several online news papers with

minimal configuration. This tool is currently used on ajc.com,Statesman.com,

wacotrib.com ...

• Designed and developed the application using multiple J2EE components Struts, EJB’s (Session beans,

Message Driven Beans), JSPs, Tag Libraries JDBC and SQL.

Used Java (singleton, Factory) and J2EE design patterns pertaining to performance and

modularity of the applications. E.g. MVC, Business Delegate, Value Object, Data Access Object.

• Integrated with COXNewspapers photo processing tool using Flash, and developed perl script to
