Consultancy: 2008 – Current
As a new venture consultant, I use a rigorous methodology consisting of management interviews,
market research, recommendations, and presentations to provide high -level, strategic consulting to
startups, venture-backed businesses, and corporations considering new init iatives
Plug&Play Tech Center: As Executive in Residence, I consult, mentor and collaborate with
start ups and entrepreneurs to develop the marketing, business and financial models related to
their technology. I also evaluate the technology potential of early stage start ups and assist
them in developing the business pitch and VC negotiations. I am currently consulting with two
social media based start ups as a business development advisor
My MobiLife: Developed the business idea, go to market strategy, revenue models,
product roadmap for a location based services startup . As VP of Product Management, I
analyzed business models, defined the competitive strategy, identified potential partnerships
and assisted the CEO in venture presentations
IBM Global Services: Developed a Corporate Innovation Management program for
Samsung Electronics (SEC) to build competency in innovation and drive successful organic
growth. Developed new process, tools and organization to set a corporate standard as a best
practice for innovation
Strategy and Business Development: Motorola Ventures, 2002 - 2008
Directly managed $10M, for identifying and incubating early stage start ups. I invested and managed
ten start ups as a General Manager to deliver new product lines and new businesses. As a champion
for implementing innovation, I use a disciplined venture capital investment model to drive organic
growth via internal development and external alliances .
Emerging Markets: Appointed by the CTO, led a cross functional team to define
Motorola's Base Station product strategy, go to market plan, roadmap, business model for
emerging markets. Report resulted in a new product line and for base stations to address
cost constraints and feature requirements. Emerging Markets fund was set up with senior
management approval

Projector Phone: Project optimized laser projection technology to enable projector
integration with phone platform. Under my direction, we matured and de -risked the technology
and developed both enterprise and consu mer business models. Led team to evaluate and
negotiate technology partnership with both academic and corporate partners. W e created 12+
IP and pre commercial prototypes
Social Networking: Led a team to develop an App lication to enable a location based, social
networking application for mobile users. This application enabled user to upload feedback
information using a simple user interface on the handset. Application client collates
information to render cumulative customer feedback on the portal (viewable on handsets) in
easy to understand graphical display
Broadcast Notification: Architected the technical solution for enabling broadcast SMS
solution, and developed the business model and go to market strategy. Led a team in th e
incubation phase to enable a new business opportunity in partnership with a third party
Renewable Energy: Chaired Africa Innovation Leadership team to define and manage
Renewable Energy project that resulted in a wind and solar based alternative energy solution
to power base stations in remote areas. Pre commercialization trial with global operator
resulted in a multi year contract
Advanced Research: Chief Technology Office, Networks Business, 1997-2002
I have a strong system level understanding of 4G, 3GPP, 3GPP2, and wireless broadband networks. I
developed simulation tools and product features on Motorola’s switching product . As a networks
architect, I developed VoIP system to launch high bandwidth dat a/video services
VoIP Expertise: Developed a compression algorithm to efficiently carry Voice over IP (VoIP)
packets over 3G networks that resulted in improving network utilization by twenty percent.
This effort led to a Motorola patent
Network Architect: Led a cross functional team to architect Motorola’s first VoIP solution for
Push to Talk calls on cellular networks. Led several advanced inventing sessions to create
IPR and Standards contributions. Recognized by Motorola for “outstanding contribution” to
standard activities in IETF and 3GPP
