Student Research Assistant
•Man-in-the-middle attack on switched local area networks: In this project I
implemented a program that can send a raw ARP packet that can poison the
ARP cache of any computer on LAN and another program that can
automatically forward the packet to the destination after capturing them. The
implementation requires the knowledge of the low level packet capturing
library and network protocols in detail.
•Developed a tool that help users learn how to write Snort rules by letting users
observe their rules in action by capturing the packets. To finish this module
successfully, I had to learn the complex Snort rules and find intrusion traffics
on the Internet. Received good reviews when presented the tool to faculty
members who attended security workshop at UNC Charlotte.
