Distinctive ringing(Teen Service) is a telecom industry standard service whereby UE
alerting is used to audibly signal information to the Called Party or terminating UE(s).
Teen Service is used to differentiate between incoming calls made to two different
subscribers but presented to the same user end point (UE). Incoming calls to Teen
subscribers are routed to Primary Subscriber’s UE with their Ring Tones, therefore
providing a distinctive ringing on Primary Subscriber’s UE.
In the residential markets, distinctive ringing is normally used to differentiate
between incoming calls made to two different DNs but presented to the same UE. In the
business markets, distinctive ringing is normally used to differentiate some specific
characteristics of the incoming call or calling Party.
