Work experience
•Embedded C Software Developer and Tester (Continental Automotive - former
SiemensVDO - -June2009)
•Designed, developed and tested the code for software modules for the cluster instrumentsuch
as Trip Computer, Outside Temperature, pointer indication, etc. for most cars from
Volkswagen-Audi Group.
As a tester I developed test plans, updated and automated part of the existing ones and I executed the tests
documenting the results in test reports and a defect tracking system.
I have years of know-how and experience performing white/black-boxtesting both on software module and
system level.
I have created and implemented test plans and test strategiesacting as test manager and team leader for a
team of testers.
I have leaded the team defining (and developing) the test automationtools solution used in the entire
department and through-out the company in all testing location over the world.
My main duties as developer were requirement clarification, design, coding, testing, debugging(with the
appropriate emulator environment) and releasing the code and documentation for the software modules
assigned to me. The coding was done in ANSI Cprogramming language.
The development environment was the Visual Studio one; but instead of the C compiler the appropriate
microcontroller compilerwas used to compile the code.
The compiled code was then loaded on the microcontroller. Throughout my career I worked with various
Motorola, ARMand Fujitsu16and 32bits microcontrollers depending on the projects.
I worked with diagnostic tools which connected to the cluster instrument via the CAN interface. When
needed, I develop enhancements of the tools.
Also I worked with and sometimes developed the CANoe simulation for the rest of the car’s CAN bus.
The embedded C development work I have done was in accordance with the Software Method Kit (CAR
rules, methods and processes) and using a version management and change management system.
I acted as C programming technical expert, reviewing code, offering support to my colleagues, providing
trainings to new employees and taking part in interviewing new candidates.
I also acted as interface to our client for clarifying requirements, defining the tasks, schedules and
coordinating the tasks within my teams.
•Team Leader (Continental AutomotiveMay2004 - June2009)
•In addition to my technical tasks as an embedded software developer and tester, I was
responsible for planning and tracking the tasks for teams of software developers and software
testers.
•Developed an efficient training program for the new hires on the team which
reduced time to productivity by over 50%.
Developed a plan for evaluating the performance of the team members which provided
metrics of team productivity and ability to improve.
Education
•Degree in Computer and System Science (Automation) from Technical University of Cluj-
Napoca (1997-2002)
Personality and soft skills
•I have a superb ability to learn fast to adapt to the needs at hand. Because of that I was able to be
among the top of the class throughout my education and then to be recognized and promoted at my
workplace.
Within the teams and groups I have studied and worked, I was open-minded I aimed at creating a
constructive atmosphere where everybody felt free to express themselves. I always had very good
collaborations with the people in my teams, with my bosses and with the people in the other teams and
departments.
Throughout my career I had to deal with conflicts, also. I have chosen to approach these situations with
openness, calm and to look for win-win scenarios.
I have experience working with people from other countries; in all my employment years I worked with
people from Germany, France, Brazil, Korea and China as they were my next desk colleagues.
