quality, and the first egg breaking company to develop a voluntary HAACP plan and a grounds security plan

The plant was very automated and required few hourly workers.)

Leadership

Orchestrated the successful start up of an on-line/off-line egg breaking plant.

Responsible for the day to day operations of this seven day a week plant. Duties included monitoring and

developing budgets, spearheading a successful safety program, and developing process improvement

strategies.

Process Management

Increased yield by 2% for profit growth.

Reduced waste water costs by 1/3.

Process Quality

Reduced FSIS noncompliance reports from a daily occurrence to a less than a quarter incident.

Consistently maintained an 85% + monthly score on our major customer’s report card and achieved a

Superior rating for two consecutive years on an annual customer audit.

Process Safety

Redesigned the safety program.

Because of increased emphasis on employee safety, the plant sustained a full year and a half without a lost

time injury.

MCCAIN FOODS, Shift Manager/Supervisor, Fort Atkinson, WI. 1999-2007

(An international leader in frozen foods. The Fort Atkinson plant was highly automated that

produced frozen appetizers including battered and breaded cheeses and vegetables in addition to

onion rings. 250 hourly workers were employed and ran three shifts.)

Leadership

Supervised entire shift operation. Responsible for up to four lines, as well as sanitation. Each shift could

include up to 65 hourly workers, and two reporting supervisors.

Process Management

Consistently managed department to meet and exceed throughput, yield and labor standards.

Instituted employee involvement teams (EIT) to increase productivity.

Served as processing point representative on plant wide HAACP review team.

Process Quality

Provided leadership consistently creating a First Time Quality score over 99.5% for over 5 years in a row.

Served as processing representative on the Research and Development team, including scheduling new

product tests and developing cost standards.
