Lab Experience, Computer Networking Laboratory Projects
. Address Resolution Protocol: Determining the arp cache and observing
the results of arp packets on tcpdump.
. Internet Protocol: Changing the netmasks and troubleshooting on IP
addresses, configuring the workstations in laboratory and their
logical interfaces.
. Internet Control Message Protocol: ICMP Address Masks, observing the
ICMP packets along with all the minor details, the minorities of PING
and TRACEROUTE programs, IP Routing, protocols used in IP routing like
RIP.
. User Datagram Protocol: used the sock programs for different
operations like observing the traffic on UDP ports, the fragmentation
in IP packets and datagrams by varying the MTU of the system deployed.
. Transmission Control Protocol: Implementation of TCP on a workstation,
the connections establishment phases, the data transfer and the
connections termination was studied deeply, the repacketisation of TCP
packets and the error control mechanisms.
. OPNET: This was used to simulate a network setup by me, and
applications like web browser, ftp, VoIP were set and analyzed from
the point of view of different user profiles.
