Financial Data Extracts, Loads, Maintenance & Reporting:
PLATFORM: Perl, C, C++, Java, UNIX, Shell Scripts, Autosys, DB2, SYBASE,
Power Builder 5/6.5
Designed & developed mission critical batch processes to extract various
types of data from Portfolio Accounting System (PAS) Data warehouse (DW)
DB2 DB and load into various SYBASE Databases. Data includes Securities,
Holdings, Foreign Exchange Currencies, Taxlots, Fund Shares, General Ledger
& Transactions for the client funds. This data will be used by reporting
unit to analyze various things. There are Graphical User Interfaces (GUI)
for each type of data mentioned as above to maintain and reporting purpose.
. Developed common extraction process using Perl/ Shell Scripts to
standardize all data extracts. With this in place, making extract
creation simpler and more flexible. There are approximately 60 extracts
are being run on daily basis. This system reduced production down time to
zero percent.
. Implemented complex data rules while loading data using stored procedures
& C/C++.
. Tuned the database queries to improve the data base performance during
high volume data retrieval process. Wrote complex DB2 queries to extract
data from DW.
. Maintained responsibility for all activities related to design,
distribution, implementation, troubleshooting, customer care, and problem
resolution for Data Extracts & Loads.
. Redesigned & developed legacy C++ load process using Perl.
. Migrated legacy Perl Processes using Java.
Auction Market Preferred Stocks (AMPS) Compliance System:
PLATFORM: Perl, C, C++, UNIX, Shell Scripts, SYBASE, PowerBuilder 6.5
AMPS is a 2 tier application consists of PowerBuilder 6.5 as a front end
and SYBASE/C/C++ as backend. This application gets the Holdings,
Securities & Transactions data from various internal State Street DBs and
Security Ratings from various Rating sources. After applying lot of
predefined compliance rules, Compliance Reports & Basic Maintenance Amount
(BMA) Reports get generated. These will be used to monitor fund
performance etc by business.
. Designed & Developed Rules Engine to incorporate complex compliance
rules as per business using C++/SYBASE Stored Procedures.
. Enhanced the existing SYBASE Open Server process written in C, to
invoke this Rules Engine from the front end application in addition to
batch process.
. Created build scripts to compile C++/C code in various environments as
per State Street standards.
Enterprise Implementation:
PLATFORM: Perl, UNIX, Shell Scripts, Autosys, SYBASE, Java
State Street's Investor Management Solutions (IMS) provides middle-office
services, back-office services and support to various Investment
Management Firms. Its solution-set includes products like Global Trade
Manager (GTM), Record Keeping System (RKS), Enterprise Data Warehouse
(EDW) and so on. State Street Princeton supports lot of IMS clients which
include JW Seligman (JWS). JWS has been migrated to Enterprise platform by
replacing its legacy Global Portfolio System.
. Developed/migrated IMS Client specific Reports, Interfaces,
applications and Trade Batch Processing etc to the Enterprise
environment.
. Developed home grown Recon Tools and set up STaARs vendor product for
data Reconciliation.
. Created detailed project plan with well-defined tasks, milestones,
client sign-offs, test cycles, and specifications, which served to
communicate project progress to management.
Responsibilities:
. Supported operating system/compiler and development environment
upgrades.
. Adapted Clear Case & Clear Quest for source code control & defect
tracking. Acted as a point of contact for all the source code control
issues. Trained new team members to use Clear Case & Clear Quest.
. Aided in development, execution, and maintenance of disaster recovery
plans.
. Documented all necessary Rational Unified Process artifacts for all
the projects worked.
. Ensure best practices are applied and integrity of data is maintained
through security, documentation, and change management.
. Identified data issues and provided recommendations for resolution to
ensure optimal performance. Proactively fixed the existing bugs and
enhanced applications to prevent potential failures.
. Work with business stakeholders, application developers, and
production teams and across functional units to identify business
needs and discuss solution options.
. Developed numerous Shell & Perl Scripts for various critical
processes.

Gateway Deferred Updates (CADM-DU)
PLATFORM: C, C++, UNIX, ORACLE, Pro*C, PL/SQL, CONTROL-M
Worked as Developer/Analyst for the CADM-BE application, which provides
billing information from the CADM database to the "Universal Biller"
(UB) to support bill production and bill reprinting via "cyclic
extract" files. Once the billing is done, UB consolidates the data and
passes the updated files to CADM-DU and DU updates CADM.
Responsibilities:

the BE source code from HP to SUN.
Multi Cultural Sales Tracking & Compensation - Sales Information
Resource System (MISTIC-SIRS):
PLATFORM: C, C++, UNIX, SYBASE, POWER BUILDER, CRYSTAL REPORTS
Worked as a Programmer/Analyst in this Sales Information Resource
System (SIRS) which is part of MISIC. It was designed using SYBASE 11
and POWER BUILDER. The database stores the sales related information
for the Consumer Direct Sales Organization.
Responsibilities:
