Contech System Aug 2009 – Current
Sr. Consultant, HIPAA and HL7 Projects, United Health Group Aug 2009 – Current
As Sr. Consultant of B2B group of UGH I have to manage and work on requirements, design, documents for the
below projects
Tricare Implementation
UHG has been awarded with the Tricare south region business to administer for claims, members, providers and
eligibility. In the first phase we have to implement all HIPAA transaction (4010A) by April 2010 then we have to
implement 5010 & ICD10. We have started working on 4010 and 5010 as well. Other than HIPAA transactions we
have to work on Portal for provider search and eligibility.
Clinical Intake Lab Reports (HL7)
UHG is currently receiving lab reports from 20 Labs and keeps the records in Galaxy system. Currently UHG is
receiving the lab reports (ORU- HL7) in customized HL7 file format which is not standard HL7 file format and
galaxy can not not find all the members in its system so rejecting those reports. We are trying to resolve this
problem and AS B2B solution we will receive the file in HL7 file and validate the format and data. Once validated,
B2B will check the member eligibility in CDB and once it finds the match, record will be sent to galaxy in a file.
Members not found or matched in the CDB will be sent in other file to Galaxy. In the whole process different
events and errors will be captured and reports will be generated.
Common Events logging repository
All transactions, HIPAA X12 & HL7, will log all events in this transaction repository. All applications or groups,
which handle transactions starting from getting into UHG gateway to different claim adjudication system or
eligibility systems etc will log all events, so that any particular transaction can be traced out. Business can create
different reports querying repository. This will use as edit log also for claim and eligibility transactions for SOX
reporting purpose.
