competitive price estimates for insurance underwriters. The project entails managing accounts,
users, work queue and generating Excel reports for accounts run.
Responsibilities:
• Analyze unique catastrophic risk pricing model to estimate competitive price selection

This project involved conducting a software requirement analysis for this system. Project also
involved generating a web portal replete with surveys, questionnaires and a message board to
help the employees of the department to participate more effectively and efficiently in the
process.

Project: Transaction management System (TMS)

Description: The TMS handles the transactions between various Gas vendors and PGW. These
transactions involve requests and responses from vendors to PGW and vice versa. The
transactions are XML messages that are validated against XDR schemas, parsed and used to
populate the tables in PGW database. VB.NET was used to process and build the XML messages.
The database used was Oracle 9i.
Responsibilities:
• Designed and developed the application in VB.NET
Involved in designing the database in Oracle 9i
Created XML parser to read data sent from the vendors and save it in the database
Validate the XML file against a schema

Philadelphia Gas Works (PGW) Sep 2004 – Dec 2004
Project: Collections System
Environment: ASP.NET, VB.NET, ADO.NET, Map Location Web Service, Oracle 9i, Visual
Studio .NET 1.1
Description: The system was developed for collecting the gas bill from PGW defaulters; it
involved dividing Philadelphia into clusters and assigning these clusters to the PGW collectors.
Map Location Web Service was used to get the X, Y coordinates of an address and based on these
X,Y values, the city was divided into clusters. A GUI was developed for assigning these clusters
to the PGW collectors.
Responsibilities:
• Designed and developed the application using VB.NET
• Conducted extensive research on available web services to suit our needs
• Used Map Location web service to locate a destination based on its X and Y co-
ordinates.
