• Systems Engineering team provided pre/post-sales technical support for Field Engineering and Sales teams resulting in
the successful deployment of over 20 Softswitch Systems and exceeding $30M in annual sales.
• Primarily focused in pre-sales engineering role tasked with developing customer architectures and solutions of Lucent
Soft switch (LSS) used to drive development, system test and marketing teams. .
• Responded to customer RFP’s and provided detailed point by point responses to customer technical inquiries on product
compliance with published standards
• Worked directly with sales team and customer to design a customized IP telephony solutions requiring modifications to
Lucent Soft Switch signaling interfaces
• Developed detailed Systems Engineering requirements specifications for new LSS features such as defining Integrated
Access Devices (IAD) and MGCP signaling interfaces. These interfaces permitted the integration of LSS and Cisco Call Manager
(CCM) for customer enterprise solution and inter-connection to PSTN. CCM handled calls internal to the customer network and
LSS handled calls and features to the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN).
Senior Manager, PathStar Product Management - Customer Engineering Team (1999-2001)
• Key member of Product Management team responsible for the development, deployment and installation of $200M
worth of PathStar systems. PathStar was the first truly converged Class 5 IP voice switch deployed in the US PSTN combining IP
access, copper loop access, IP packet switching and ATM transport.
• Customer Engineering team functioned as a Pre-sales engineering team which directly interacted with Lucent customers
(CLEC executive and technical teams) to articulate the detailed operation and value proposition offered by PathStar. Assisted
customers with design of equipment and co-location layout to meet carrier requirements.
• Used comprehensive technical understanding of voice and data networks in order to make recommendations on
architecting CLASS 5 dial plans, ATM and IP addressing schemes necessary for each customer network.
• Designed customer specific networks combining PathStar with IP routers, ATM switches, DSLAMs, and MGCP based
IADs, billing systems and existing customer networks.
• Generation of detailed plans to integrate new equipment and retire existing equipment while maintaining a fully
