PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
1999 – Present Alcon Research, LTD – Sinking Spring, PA
I.T. SPECIALIST
• Budget / Payroll system for Finance Department:
Employee Salary Header/Detail Entry/Maintenance,
Overhead Analysis Report, Sales Tax Analysis,
Expense Items, Promotion Matrix. Interface this
custom network of programs to the General Ledger.
Business Unit, Object Account, Sub Account.
eWork Order System: subfile Selection of Work Orders, ability to attach alternate Bills of Material and
Routings, Work Order print, use of Trigger Files to capture changes to header and detail information, inventory
and labor transaction processing and inquiries.
Materials Planning: wrote scripts for use on shop floor – CK30 wanding devices generate Material Issue and
Return to Stock transactions. Wrote custom subfile inquiry programs to display and select transactions for
further processing.
Auto Allocation – wrote a system to capture inventory distribution data for Alcon satellites (termed Global
Inventory Repository System) and also to calculate the quantities needed to correctly allocate inventory for
future demand, automatically. This was a major project for the Materials Dept and freed up a lot of time
because it replaced a manual process.
Created Production Requirements data (termed Demand Plan Accuracy) to supply the buyer/planners with up to
the minute information. This was a complex calculation which involved inventory projections and past history
combined.
Auto Attendance – Alcon used a system called DSI to receive attendance and labor transactions generated by
scripts / wanding devices, present data to supervisors who approved said time and labor, and upload the results
to JD Edwards files, ultimately to the GL. When Alcon replaced the attendance process on these wanding
devices (Maxilans) with new time clocks, I had to create an interface which would still create the time and
attendance transactions, based solely on the employee’s labor transactions. This was an extremely complicated
series of programs, and has been in production for a year.
Advance Ship Notice: create formatted transactions and prepare for transmission to vendors, as well as subfile
inquiry and processing programs for this data.

calculate bonuses over summer when additional workers were usually hired.

making product. Used also to correct errors (discrepancies) between physical and online inventory through
greater control / approval.
