SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS

o Achieved three successful Institutional Internal Reviews by spearheading

creation of new Goals and Objectives for resident training and revising

evaluation process to ensure compliance within the ACGME.

o Coordinated the annual Department of Surgery Alumni event with a focus on

developing relationships with faculty for continued support of training

programs.

o Coordinated the first Edmund D. Pellegrino Lectureship series on

Bioethics in Surgery through Georgetown Center for Bioethics with

unprecedented public participation. Organized a full Public Relations

campaign within the medical community and political leaders.

o Co-wrote two program information forms (PIF) for ACGME site visits in

2006 and 2007 with full accreditation awarded to both programs; Plastic

Surgery receiving a letter of commendation. The PIF is the only document

within the program which is created for the accreditation council's

review of the program.

o Meeting Planning:

* Created quarterly meetings for evaluation of surgeons in

training.

* Conducted evaluations three times a year instead of bi-annually.

Creating a better opportunity to review areas of concern.

* The meetings were started after 5:00P.M. so to increase faculty

participation and not interfere with their dedicated time to

patient care.

* Each meeting had full presentation of previous minutes.

* Each meeting ended with action items that were addressed within

seven days of the meeting.

o Coordinated the annual Surgical Education Retreat which focused on

evaluation and improvement of training program. This retreat provided

faculty and residents an opportunity to address concerns as well as share

ideas for the overall success of the training programs.

o Encouraged strong relationships between educators and Georgetown to

create a brand that catapulted the training program into a nationally

recognized institution for future physicians.

o Represented Georgetown University at the American Heart Association's

"Heart Walk" in Washington DC-2006.

o Published in the Journal of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery- January

2007.

o Graduate School, Corporate Communications Project- Created a Smoking

Cessation Communications Plan for young adults within the Montgomery

County Maryland school system. Received one of the highest grades in the

program for content and evaluation.
