Branch Operations Manager, 2002 - Present
Gexpro (General Electric -GE Supply) -Puerto Rico
Provide leadership, motivation, direction and training to a branch team of
26 employees in order to serve customer profitability. Perform and lead
productivity projects, and generate new ideas that drive both growth and
increased profits while continuing to reduce operational expenses.
Responsible for managing up to a $27MM P&L. Negotiate and process all stock
purchase orders and interface with all key vendors to develop strong
business relationships with them in order to help increase branch market
share. Lead the creation of vendor rebate programs for local vendors who
did not have a national program in order to increase profitability. Monitor
and maintain inventory levels needed to fulfill customer demands and full
responsibility for inventory reconciliation of over $3MM of inventory.
Responsible for help creating and maintaining strong customer relationships
in order to achieve and exceed branch top line sales goals and gross margin
objectives. Lead for hiring and training personnel including warehouse and
both inside and outside sales teams. Managed two large Oasis jobs in Puerto
Rico- Amgen and Lilly. EHS leader for Puerto Rico. Lead for customer claims
resolution.
Selected Contributions:
. Key player in the sales growth success on the island. In 2002, revenues
were $19MM and in 2008 we exceeded our sales goals with a total revenue
of over $27MM.
. Worked closely with and established strong business relations with
vendors in order to obtain improved rebate programs. Aligned the branches
with these vendors in order to increase business profitability and also
increase market share.
. Helped increase EBITA to $2.2MM in 2008, exceeding the EBITA percentage
goals by more than 4 percentage points by increasing sales and gross
margin while reducing operational costs.
Branch Operations Manager, 1993 - 2002
Wesco Distribution Inc. -Puerto Rico
Responsible for delivering impeccable customer service by managing all
aspects of the daily operations including but not limited to inside sales
staff, warehousing, accounts payables, transportation, facilities and
equipment maintenance. Supervise branch customer order fulfillment and
inventory replenishment by managing the purchasing department. Work
directly with outside sales by creating sales strategies for the
construction, industrial and government segments based on assigned goals.
Participate in joint calls with sales staff and key vendors in order to
create demand and maintain customer presence. Plan and manage a P&L of
$13MM with a four percent EBITA goal. Full responsibility to hire, train
and terminate together with the HR department.
Selected Contributions:
. Achieved ISO 9001 certification for Puerto Rico in 1998 and maintained it
until departing the Company in 2002.
. Improved all operational aspects of the business including cost
reductions in order to improve profitability.
. Key player in identifying two of the islands largest contractor accounts
in the electrical distribution market and helped develop them as two of
the top ten accounts for the Puerto Rico branches.
