1. LMS MI Development

The Department for Work and Pensions leads the UK Government's response to
some of the biggest issues facing the country - welfare and pension reform
- and is a key player in tackling child poverty. It is the biggest public
service delivery department in the UK and serves over 20 million customers.
Summary: This involved universe and reports development for LMS (Labour
Market System). Universe/ Reports were created for various functional areas
like FND, PtW, NINo, ESA etc. Most of the reports used a common hierarchy
which was included in the universe template for ease of development. Builds
were released after testing which was then sent to AMS team for deployment
on production. Star team was used for version control and configuration
management. Backups were taken weekly. Also involved performance tuning of
report SQLs.
2. Migration to BO XI R3.1

Client: Miller Coors
MillerCoors is a joint venture between SABMiller and Molson Coors Brewing
Company, has the responsibility of selling brands such as Miller Lite,
Miller High Life, Miller Genuine Draft, Coors, Coors Light, Molson
Canadian, and Steel Reserve in the United States, with the purpose of
combining all of their US brewing operations.
Summary: This involved installation, configuration, clustering of XI R3.1
and migration of universe/reports from XI R2. Single sign on (SSO) was
implemented using Windows AD and Kerberos. The system was deployed on
VMware. Also involved installation and testing of Live Office XI R3. IIS
7.0 was used as application server. Load/stress testing was done for
capacity planning. Also created DR plan.

General Motors Company, is a United States based automaker with
headquarters in Detroit, Michigan.
Summary: The project involved:
> Data warehouse for General Motors related to Vehicle Management,
Accounts, Payroll, Financial and Property Tax Management System.
> Yearly/Monthly/Daily loads, CRs and Tickets.
> Automation of manual processes in production support for various
applications.
There were total 15 applications receiving data from diverse systems,
which had to be loaded in datawarehouse/datamarts using Ascential
Datastage(server, parallel and mainframe jobs). In few applications, the
data was loaded using procedures/shell scripts for which ETL jobs were
created later.

Migration to BO XI R2 / Custom Applications Development
Summary: This involved installation, configuration, clustering, load
balancing (software based) and migration from version 6.1b. New
functionalities of XI R2 (like single pass report bursting etc.) were
tested. Security was rebuilt in XI R2 SP1 as migration of the same was not
recommended by Business Objects.
Custom applications were developed using BO Java SDKs to help in day to day
activities and maintenance of the XI System. Patches and service packs were
applied as and when released.
Business Intelligence (Decision Support System)
Environment: BO 6.1b/XI R2, Oracle 9i/10g
Role : Business Objects Developer
Summary: Developed reports and universes for various applications like ICC
(International calling card), Customer Acquisition, RWorld, RConnect, LEA
etc. Also implemented drill down, cascading prompts etc. on reports and row
level restrictions on universe for security as there were users with access
to data for one/multiple zones.
