responsibilities were in the area of product development for Pinnacle's

Vortex Networked News, a distributed architecture and product platform for

automating the news production process. My responsibilities included:

. Lead software engineering, QA, system, and release engineering for

several broadcast applications; Sports Logger, Media Management, Ingest

Scheduler, and Play-out Automation server

WatchPoint Media was a startup company that created innovative products for

the interactive Television "iTV" and DVD broadband marketplace. My role

involved managing software engineering, QA, release engineering, and

product management as well as project managing all technology deliverables

for an end-to-end iTV solution. My main focus was in providing managerial

leadership in engineering planning, product, process, and people management

for all development efforts inclusive of requirements management and

identifying, negotiating, and managing the integration of 3rd party

technology. The technologies built included:

. A platform independent interactive TV authoring platform, StoryTeller,

for designing and building iTV applications. This application was build

on top of FastObjects OODBMS, using Java, and Java Swing. Built a

backend ledger platform for maintaining user profiles and game

statistics.

. Portable embedded set top box clients for Open and Power TV written in C

. Broadcast formatters that convert XML to native data formats for embedded

set top boxes and QuickTime player.
