Chubb & Son, Programmer Analyst – As part of a large Mainframe Application
Warren, N.J. Team, was responsible for coding, testing, and integrating modular code into
2001 - 2008 Quarterly Software Releases. Customer satisfaction and the customer’s business
objectives were always the primary focus. This mainframe system supported
billions of dollars in generated premium each year. Developers supported this
system’s constant need for updates to support new business functionality.
Specific duties are as follows:
Coded and unit tested Cobol/DB2 modules in an environment composed of IMS
online transactions, telon screens, and tso/panvalet coding tools. Tested to ensure
proper end to end functionality. Goal of department was testing that produced
zero defects upon delivery to QA. Was always able to test and meet this goal.
Day to day duties included translating technical requirements into coding specs,
and specs into coded modules. Tested against business requirements and was
ready for departmental Quarterly Software Releases on or ahead of schedule.
1996-2001 Full-time, stay at home, mother for my young children. Substituted at a local
software training company instructing in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
1990-1996 Industrial Engineer – Worked in the Healthcare and Banking industries.
Conducted studies aimed at increasing efficiency and reducing costs within
the organization’s operational areas. Produced reports detailing specific
observations, conclusions, and recommendations for next steps taken to increase
departmental efficiency. Detailed the possible cost savings that would result.
