Interests

Dear Sirs,

I am interested in interviewing for the Director of Mechanical

Engineering position you have listed on Linked in. My qualifications fit

well with the requirements stated in the job description. This is my 20th

year in the medical device industry (products for magnetic resonance

imaging and rehabilitation). My work, to date, is comprised of product

design for short run, low volume (<2000 units /year) medical products

Although many techniques we use are drawn from higher volume production

practices. I am familiar with the regulatory requirements, product

standards, documentation, testing, etc. involved in bringing medical

devices to market. While I understand your company does not produce

medical products, the regulatory experience and many of the processes are

applicable. I have experience operating under ISO 13485 (similar to 9001)

and produce products that comply with UL, FDA and CE requirements.

My greatest asset is my drive to succeed and my internal motivation

to secure the information or knowledge required to do the work correctly

and quickly. I am a leader among my peers wherever I work and work well in

a team environment. My experience allows me to see through seemingly

complex design problems and find the simple, efficient solution. I am

focused on completing projects on time and have a strong work ethic that

allows me to do what it takes to stay on schedule. My latest 30+ part

injection molded product was delivered on time (an 8 month product

development schedule ending on 12/18/09) and this project allowed our

company to realize over 5 million dollars in revenue for '09. My work

experience ranges from small companies with 70 people and 12M in sales to

large companies like Philips and Smith & Nephew. I have recent experience

working with overseas suppliers. I am very entrepreneurial and also work

well within a large organization.

I would like to continue sharing my qualifications and experience

with you in an interview. Please consider my resume and contact me if my

qualifications are a close fit with your needs. I look forward to learning

more about this company and it's product development challenges. Thank you

for your consideration.

Sincerely,

Matt Mercier
