Project : MPAS-1 (Maryland Pension Administration System - Phase 1)

Role : Lead Business Analyst

MPAS-1 is designed to modernize the existing Legacy Pension System (LPS).

This redesigning process is essentially the first step in redeveloping the

business processes for Maryland State Retirement Agency. The goal of the

MPAS-1 Project is to recreate the Legacy Pension System (LPS) with an

agile architecture using .NET.

Responsibilities include

. Interacting with Business Owners to gather the functional

requirements and business needs.

. Gathering technical requirements by analyzing the modules of existing

Legacy Pension System (LPS)

. Facilitating meetings with Business Users to discuss more about

the gathered requirements and finalizing them.

TOPS (The Online Processing System).

Main functionality of this project is to expand the fields in programs,

files and the online screens

architecture was changed. In this project, complete back end of the claims

system is changed from VSAM to DB2 to increase the claim processing

efficiency. This backend change would also ensure effective handling of

high volume of data.

Responsibilities include

. Performing the impact analysis to find the impacted modules of claims

system that needs conversion

. Performing code analysis for the impacted modules to understand the

existing code and document the same which will be used in the design

phase

. Preparing technical specification for the required functionality

change based on the technical analysis results

. Coding the modules based on the given technical specification

according to the coding standards

. Preparing unit test plan to test the converted modules

. Performing unit testing based on the test plan

. Fixing bugs raised during the testing phase

system on a 24/7 basis.

Responsibilities include

. Fixing the production abends within the given SLA limits, (For a batch

abend, severity is sev 2 and SLA is 4 hrs)

. Giving turn around fix for one time occurring production problems

. Identifying the root cause and giving a permanent fix for the

frequently occurring production problems

. Resolving the user raised tickets for the existing production problems

. Performance tuning for critical modules

. Scheduling the jobs to run in production

Project : Pilot Production Execution (PPE)

Role : QA Engineer

Pilot Production Execution project is a part of client's online claims

processing system called TOPS (The Online Processing System). Pilot

Production Execution is used to evaluate the production run with the recent

development/enhancement changes in the test environment. Based on the

results from Pilot Production Execution, these changes would be fine tuned

and moved to the client's production system.

Responsibilities include

. Executing a pre-setup clone of production run in the test region

according to the request specification given by developers

. Setting up the sequence of JCLs for a new Pilot Production Execution

. Analyzing the developer's request and making necessary changes to the

JCLs, which are required for a smooth execution

. On a successful execution, sending out reports and statistics of the

run to the developers

. Raising defects/issues in Test director when the execution fails due

to the defects of recent developments

. Monitoring a defect until closure

. Test region control and maintenance
