Kamisar Legal Search, Inc. is a Seattle-based attorney recruitment firm

that places attorneys locally, nationally and internationally. Its

placements have included attorneys at corporations ranging in size from

start-ups to the Fortune 100 and include such companies as Microsoft, Real

Networks, Corbis, Digeo, Amgen, The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation,

Amazon, Intel, Hewlett-Packard, Sun Microsystems, IBM, AT&T Bell Labs, AT&T

Wireless Services, Starbucks, Texas Instruments and many others. Its

client base also includes numerous law firms of all sizes throughout the

nation.

Gordon Kamisar was the first attorney to enter the Pacific Northwest legal

search profession in 1990. He is a graduate of Duke University Law School

and is licensed to practice in three jurisdictions including the State of

Washington. He has a B.A degree, Cum Laude, in Psychology from the

University of Michigan. Before becoming a search consultant, he worked at

McCutchen, Doyle, Brown & Enersen in San Francisco and Donovan, Leisure,

Newton & Irvine in New York City. Gordon interviewed numerous attorney

applicants while on the hiring committee of a Washington, D.C. law firm.

As an attorney, Gordon has gained substantial expertise in intellectual

property and computer law. He obtained copyright registrations for

computer software and helped bring a copyright infringement action on

behalf of a Fortune 500 manufacturer of computer hardware and software.

Gordon also was involved in litigating such cutting edge issues as whether

computer languages are protectable under the copyright laws. In 1988 he

wrote "Dispelling Common Misconceptions and Confusion About Copyright

Protection", which appeared in the American Bar Association's Barrister

Magazine. In 1994 he co-authored "Who Really Owns 'Your' Software

Programs?" which appeared in the June issue of The Software Practitioner.

Gordon has been an active member of the Copyright Subcommittee of the

American Bar Association (ABA)'s Committee on Computer Programs, the ABA's

Committee on Computer Litigation, and the Committee on Electronic &

Computer Law of the American Intellectual Property Association (AIPLA).

His biography is included in Who's Who in American Law.

David Lewis is a Seattle attorney who recruits and places attorneys,

focusing on national and international placements. David received his

B.A., with honors and with distinction, in Political Science from Stanford

University. He received a J.D. as well as an M.B.A. from the University of

Washington, and he is licensed to practice in the State of Washington.

Prior to becoming a search consultant, he was Associate General Counsel to

a large regional savings bank for five years, he was in private practice

with two well-known Pacific Northwest law firms for five years, he was a

Commercial Banking Officer for two years, and most recently was an

international trade consultant for six years. As an attorney, David's

practice emphasized banking, real estate development, commercial

transactions, and international trade. David's clients included large

regional financial institutions, insurance companies, real estate

developers, corporations and individual business people. He has negotiated

and drafted documents for the purchase, sale and/or financing of more than

$1 billion in transactions. David's experience as an attorney and

international business person make his expertise an invaluable asset as a

legal search consultant, as corporations and law firms increasingly recruit

candidates for international assignments or to handle cross-border legal

issues.

Gordon's and David's insights as attorneys, their contacts in various major

cities, their experience as participants on both sides of the hiring

process, and their expertise in emerging areas of the law enable them to

provide valuable services as legal search consultants.
