Present
Responsible for production scheduling of the plant as well as
the delivery and receipt of raw and finished goods. Initiated
weekly cycle counting to improve inventory accuracy. Currently
working with both the customer and suppliers to minimize
inventory levels during the downturn in the economy.
Production Manager - November 2007 -
March 2009
Managed a three shift machining operation in a start-up
environment. Worked to implement procedures (5S, lean, etc.)
that became the benchmark for the plant as it began to grow.
Developed a production tracking spreadsheet based on hours
earned to help operators understand how efficient they were
running. Helped identify and then became champion of a Six
Sigma Project to reduce set up time on equipment.

Molding Manager - August 2007 -

Responsible for scheduling, directing, and improving the molding
department's three shift operation. Worked to improve cycle
times, scrap, and teamwork as time allowed while adapting to
this position and the plant staff. Plant eventually closed due
to company bankruptcy.

Assistant Plant Manager - April 2007-
July 2007
Planned, organized, and led the daily function of the facility's
production, packaging, and sanitation groups.
Accomplishments:
*Implemented weekly meetings to improve communication
between production and maintenance on work orders and major
capital projects.
*Improved standardization of changeovers, which reduced
changeover time on a high speed bottle line by over 30%.
*Proposed new relief schedule to increase use of employee

Operations Manager - 2005- April 2007
Director of all activities in the South Plant, including 220+
hourly employees, 11 supervisors, and 4 manufacturing managers
with $4M+ in monthly costs. Responsible for P&L, long-term
planning, budgeting and headcount. Area of responsibility
included multiple assembly cells and assembly lines, multi-color
and single color injection molding, as well as paint, aluminize,
and topcoat processes.
Accomplishments:
*Improved South Plant First Time Quality from 72% to close
to 90% through better teamwork, well-defined startup and
shutdown procedures, and tool improvements.
*Improved PM completion and planned maintenance downtime by
80% through weekly maintenance/manufacturing meetings.
*Worked with Tooling, Product, and Process Engineering to
successfully launch the molding process for a new product.
*Assisted Quality Organization in transistioning the plant
from QS-9000 to TS-16949 standards.

* Developed a spreadsheet to help departments track
efficiency and scrap costs shift by shift as it compares to
the budget.
*Implemented Operator Accountability Program for better
traceability on defective parts.

Managed multiple senior level engineering projects while

*Developed and built a new assembly press that included new
ideas in errorproofing and a revolutionary new seal check

Managed various projects to improve the molding process, as well
as handled daily maintenance issues with molding machines.
Accomplishments:
*Managed the development, installation, and programming of
25 Fanuc Robot layouts to improve cycle time by 25% on
different types of plastic molding machines. Involved
supervising UAW employees.
*Directed a major conversion of an injection molding
machine's control wiring after a catastrophic fire.
*Provided daily technical assistance to hourly tradesmen on
various types of PLC's, robots, and computers.
