At Pfizer Pharmaceuticals (Groton, Connecticut; San Diego, California), I

worked as a Senior Application Support Oracle DBA within the centralized

Database Administration (DBA) Group. While there, I specialized in the

support of the Highly Available Oracle Data Warehouses running on Oracle

8i, Oracle 9i and Oracle 10g. I also wrote scripts in support of the

oracle databases and scheduled jobs using Shell scripting (Korn, Bourne).

The Data Warehouses I supported housed the Drug Development Pipeline System

(tracking all drug development) as well as the Clinical Trials Data

(required to be up 24x7x365 for access by the United States Food and Drug

Administration (FDA)). While there I also implemented database security

monitoring through the use of Oracle Fine Grained Auditing.

At Charlotte County Record Search I performed the design, install, build

and deployment of a land titles record tracking system on Oracle Apex.

Using the same skills used at the Province of New Brunswick (Nov 2004 to

Nov 2005), I designed and implemented a system that would track land

transfers via deeds, wills, auctions, seizers and sales. Although the

system was used to track land transfers, the main function was to capture

genealogical information from these transfers for the use in genealogical

research.

At the Province of New Brunswick (Canada), I performed data modeling,

design, development and coding of a new application utilizing Oracle Apex

(a rapid application development web enabled tool). The Apex application

was built for the Office of the Provincial Coroner (Medical Examiner).

Deployed on hand-held devices, the Apex System enabled the investigating

medical examiner to enter all aspects of the preliminary and completing

investigations into a thin client web application. The system was also

used by the Office of the Provincial Coroner to assign cases, perform

regional reviews, produce reports, as well as to produce death certificates

and other required documentation. Together with one other developer, I

worked on the development, design and build of several hundred Oracle Apex

data entry screens, forms (tabular forms, master detail, SQL Query), graphs

and data-driven navigation methods (menus, tabs, lists, trees,

breadcrumbs). I also implemented the Apex application security

(authentication and authorization schemas) on pages, regions, menus, multi-

level tabs, popup LOVs, calendars, buttons, JavaScript functions,

JavaScript buttons, etc. I also utilized my many years of experience in

writing SQL and PL/SQL Stored Procedures to implement reusable code which

could be called by the Apex application. Once the application was created,

we used the Apex Translation Application to create a version of the

application to be run in French.
